The Dark Below

The Dark Below

The bar keeps straightening up and gives a warm and friendly smile, pouring another round of swish into the empty glass by him. The orc's voice trembles with fear and anxiety. "There are no pirates here I'm afraid. After all, piracy would be unlawful, the only one left in Sky World is that King of Pirates and he isn't here." Tegan halts his hand forward as if saying to stop pouring, the glass is only half full, but Gord gives in to the demand and puts the bottle down. "The lone wolf crazy King of Pirates, here? I don’t think so. Besides mostly women have checked in today." The Chosen grips the base of the glass and lifts the hem to his nose, giving it a good smell before dripping the liquor

BLOOD & JUSTICE

BLOOD & JUSTICE

The first time he had ever touched someone not out of instruction or obligation—purely because his instincts refused to let that hand vanish from his reach. They stayed until the last embers of dusk. Feliks read aloud from the book he’d brought—pirates, a mysterious island absent from every map. Isabella listened with her back against the branch, watching the night sky through gaps in the leaves that felt deliberately placed for the two of them alone. “We’re going to be pirates too,” she declared. Final. “Pirates are criminals.” “The characters in adventure books are criminals too. But their adventures are extraordinary.” Feliks ran out of arguments. “All right.”

All the Feels

All the Feels

So, my relationship with my mother is eggshells, and eggshells are the last thing I want to think about at a time like this. The guest bedroom is small, plain, and ordinary. The bedsheets are light blue and match the light blue wallpaper. On the shelf is The History of Pirates book from Mr. Davis. I put it back in the Lending Library the day I got bullied. Jeremy must have found it and knew I put it in there. "We could be like them, you know, "Jeremy says, pointing at the book on the shelf. "Like who?" "Like Anne Bonnie and Calico Jack, the pirates. They were in love and didn't let anyone hurt them."

Tides of Passion: The Pirate's Curse

Tides of Passion: The Pirate's Curse

Grappling hooks and boarding planks snaked through the night, linking the ships with brutal finality as Captain Drago's vessel crashed against Gabriel's, sending splintered wood flying across the deck. Amelia led the charge, her chestnut fur gleaming in the moonlight as she leapt the gap and landed among the enemy with lethal grace. Claws and teeth, she was a whirling dervish scattering pirates like leaves in the wind. Gabriel was right behind her, sword drawn and eyes narrowed with purpose as he barked orders to his pack. Dark-clad figures surged to meet them, cursed blades raised and eyes full of malice. The clang of metal on metal and the snarl of beasts erupted across the deck. Lucas pos

I'm the Pirate Queen

I'm the Pirate Queen

They were the sixteen other brothers I had left behind. The ship's security forces had already been scared out of their minds as they threw their guns into the sea and lay trembling on the deck. Hank watched those pirates close in and shut his eyes in despair. Yet, these sixteen ruthless pirates, the very men who had given navies around the world endless headaches, stopped together when they were around ten feet in front of me. Then, they raised their heads and roared as one. "Welcome back, Captain!"

The Captain, the Mechanic and the One Night Stand

The Captain, the Mechanic and the One Night Stand

Daxton stated. Usually, even if they were hit by a ravager ship, there would be bodies. Space pirates were a violent bunch. Pressure sickness ran rampant during extended space travel, easy to make even the most seasoned space goers fall sick to psychosis. Usually in deep space, at the edge, where there are no more stars, only blackness. That much dark could break a mind. But this ship…didn't have any bodies at all. If they were hit with an EMP, then whoever hit them would have come aboard and slaughtered them once they were defenseless.

THE PASTOR'S SON'S DIRTY LITTLE SECRECT

THE PASTOR'S SON'S DIRTY LITTLE SECRECT

Anonymous mentioned old sci-fi books in passing, referencing a classic series about rogue AIs and lost space colonies. Anonymous: That series is underrated. The way the characters question everything in those abandoned worlds… hits different on nights like this. Leon paused, thumb freezing mid-air. He actually liked that exact series. It was one of his quiet escapes, the dog-eared paperbacks hidden under his bed alongside other secrets. A common interest. He hadn’t expected that. For a moment, his skepticism wavered. Still, he replied carefully, not fully opening yet. Leon: Yeah. Some of those books are okay.

Marked From Birth

Marked From Birth

"I’ve got a cargo of 'Unrefined-Hope' from a desert-universe that needs to get to the 'Ice-Wastes' of Sector-12. If we don't get there in time, their boilers are going to go cold, and they’ll start reverting to 'Stasis'." The "Trade-Routes" were constantly under threat from the "Void-Pirates"—remnants of the "Relic-Hunters" who had gone rogue, seeking to hoard the "Unique-Variables" of the parallel worlds for themselves. These pirates used "Phasing-Jammers" to pull merchant ships out of the frequency-channels, dragging them into "Pocket-Dimensions" where they could be stripped for their "Sovereignty-Code."

Captured by the Alien

Captured by the Alien

I wasn't sure how long a person could survive without anything to eat at all, but I didn't fancy going more than a day or two. I'd once been almost three, but it had been hell, especially to try and fly a ship and do complicated things like land. It was important I found a way to get a little food. And I could only think of one way to do that right now. Take it from someone who wasn't going to report me to the Frentin authorities for stealing from them. Other space pirates.

highly entertaining. I kept wanting to slug Icaan in the jaw, but he finally came to his scenes. I would like an epilogue or another chapter - what happens now? life within the royal family? still out & about in his brother's ship? slave reform? women's rights? I'm left hanging.

A smoothly and thrilling written book. Icaan and Jet are endearing, the dynamic between them is great, passionnate and I liked the way it developed. Also that Jet isn't just a damsel in distress but had the wits and guts to fight for her prince. I'd love there be a continuation of their adventures
