Books In My Library Novels & Stories

Mom supported me, not because she understood, but because she loved me and wanted me to be happy. I stood up and walked around the library, feeling a little restless. They had all of the classics, and some of them looked as though they were expensive copies. Other authors that I regularly read, such as James Patterson and Dean Koontz were on the shelves. They even had some of my female favorites, such as Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Heather Graham Pozzessere. Then I wondered down to another section where I found some more provocative books. They had a lot of erotica books. One huge volume stood out: The Kama Sutra.

said Davin, settling on the other side of the booth beside Marla. I remembered the blanket and flung it off, not wanting to look like a coddled infant while we were working. It was all right when just my Beta and Gamma were present, but the library was a spot favoured by my pack when the rain came. “A select few?” Marla scoffed. “Dav, you need to rethink your definition of few.” “There are… ten books here,” I said, flicking my fingertip upwards as I counted them. “That constitutes a few to me.” Davin shrugged.

The sound of water gently lapping against the shelves provided a soothing ambiance, creating a serene atmosphere that encouraged deep contemplation and study. As they ventured deeper into the library, Tritan, Finrir, Nerissa, Madissa, Bryan, and Joe found themselves surrounded by rows upon rows of books. The sheer volume of knowledge contained within those pages was awe-inspiring. Each book seemed to hold the answers to countless mysteries, waiting to be discovered by those who sought enlightenment.

I couldn’t help feeling resentful and emotional, even though I wasn’t talking to anyone and looked stupid. Instead of sulking, I went out of the room and went to the library to look for a book. Maybe because I didn’t finish my studies, I’m too attached to books. Since I was a child, I’ve loved reading books, but my mom made them into rice paddies, so she chopped them all and burned them. There are ten rows of bookshelves here, and the built-in ones attached to the wall are separate. The hardbound books are also separate from the softbound ones. I wish everyone was like this, so I bought these kinds of books. Rich people are really different.

I would stay here for hours just so I didn't have to see dad. Maybe that's why I had unconsciously avoided revisiting this place. Nothing seemed to change. The library was mostly filled with books on pack history—nothing interesting, but... I needed to find a book, 'The Book of Prophesies'. I never did find the book interesting; I didn't believe in prophecies. Things had changed since I discovered that Lena had some strange abilities. I knew my way around the library. I walked down the rows of books arranged, and then I stopped.

I was certain I would find mine before him, though, because it looked like I was on the right track to finding it. There was a problem with this particular library, though. This library didn't have its books arranged in the proper order. The books were arranged haphazardly, with no care for order or easy location. Most libraries either had their books arranged in alphabetical order or according to author's names or according to the genres but this particular one didn't have any of that. Everything was joined together with everything and it made finding a book so difficult. I wonder why the Alpha had it like that, though.

Tapping and clicking away at my laptop in a secluded little corner of the library, surrounded by so many books about werewolves, pack life and even children’s books of old folk tales that have been passed on from generation to generation. I hadn’t read any of them yet, but I was excited to check them out. As I was clicking through different articles, a librarian walked out of a door, and behind it were hundreds more books. Immediately coming to a stand, I swiftly strode towards the door before it closed and peeped inside. A lot of the books looked ancient, but others looked in perfect condition. What was this place? Why was it bordered off?

I echoed, my eyes trailing over the spines. “This is mostly factual books about my kingdom, about religion, about wars. The big library is mostly fictional books, all in different versions. Anything you could want to read, you would find in there.” Then I noticed it, noticed the fire in his eyes burning a little hotter, the crookedness of his smile turning a little more prudent. “Perhaps you can recommend something?” I asked, even though it wasn’t so much a question and more a request instead. “I’m sure I can be of assistance,” he mused, the heady tone creating something tingling between us. Something that flowed so naturally, like we were already drawn to each other.

After entering the library, I closed the door behind me and locked it to ensure no unwanted invasion. I walked to the farthest corner of the library where there was a small collection of books with their covers engraved in gold designs. My eyes wandered over the books before halting onto the one with black leather cover. It didn’t stand out much compared to other books but one glance at the pages inside and it is enough to catch anyone's attention.

It brought me the comfort I needed. I weaved through the shelves, my fingers tracing the spines of various books in the magic and mythology section. Honestly I was surprised that the Royal Library was bigger than the public library. Who read those books? And then— I collided into something. No, someone. A book called 'Summoners' got my attention. As my fingers reached the book, a person's hand reached the book from my right side.
