Books With Red Covers Novels & Stories

It was no ordinary book and neither was it meant for ordinary people. ‘’I need to get something for myself’’ Mara says walking onto the shelf hidden at the far end of the room. Several books aligned on tall shelves, taller than I had ever seen. The covers were of several different colors, from blue to red to green and purple, several odd colors even for book covers. I couldn't help but to trace my fingers across the several books admiring them in my own way, I was feeling tempted to pick up a book and open it and actually read it but that wasn't why I was here, I was here in search for Miguel to ask him if he had the answer to what I was feeling and if he was feeling it to. The way he acted when we first met made me feel suspicious of him and actually think that he felt the same way that I was feeling.

I placed my hand on the cold knob, and it creaked open under my push, revealing a library. Dust floated in the amber light coming from a chandelier, the scent of old paper surrounded me like an embrace. Shelves towered on all sides, cracked and faded with a variety of books. My fingers drifted along the titles crested in the rectangular back of the books, then something caught my eye—a red hardback, its cover smooth and untouched. The title was etched in gold: LEGACY OF THE CROSS.

It seemed that Beta had the same plan as ours, the only reason why they got ahead of us was because they agreed to meet back up in the middle after just five minutes. We headed towards the library where the first clue led us. We hold billions of words, one in a red, one in blue, one in yellow. It is renowned and entitled Despite the Dark Cover, It's Bright Inside. We immediately started looking for a book with a dark covering and has its title written in red, blue, and yellow. Beta was here at the library as well. I was searching at the lower shelves when I realized how useless it was to sweep the whole library for just one book.

“Quiet doesn’t mean unbothered. Just good at hiding it.” We fell into silence. The only sound was distant thunder rumbling above ground. I wondered how long we’d be down here. Minutes stretched. My mind wandered to how close he was. How alone we were. “Tell me something,” I said finally. “Why’d you become a librarian? You don’t seem like the type who likes being stuck behind a desk all day.” Mr. Kane exhaled softly. “Books don’t talk back. They don’t expect small talk. I like the order. And the stories. What about you? History major with a focus on obscure trade? That’s not common.”

He places the stack on another empty table, and I approach, curious to see what he has brought. “Here you go, Miss Anara Valen. If I may advise you, I suggest starting with this book here,” Zephyr points to a red book with gold lettering. “It’s about the division of the packs. Then go to this book here,” he points to another book with a green cover. “This one is about the old alphas of Nightveil Pack, and then the rest is up to you.” I give Zephyr a sincere and enthusiastic smile for his tips and dedication in fetching all these books for me.

Out of all the books he had organized, it was the only one that didn't look so worn out. Near... SKALLIET I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... Its large uppercase letters occupied a significant part of the book, its red color appearing beneath some spaces of the burnt and withered rose, arousing curiosity just like its name.

Mathias warns me to not open it. “Well, there’s only one way to find out,” Tawny flips the simple catch on the box and opens the lid. Inside is a single leather-bound book, about five or six inches thick, with pressed paper. The book was indeed old. I lift the book out, place it next to the box it came in and open the cover. “Well, that sucks,” Clicking her tongue and throwing her hands on her hips, Tawny says, “Are all the pages written in code?”

’ Caleb makes a sensible point. The remaining volume of the extraordinary collection is little more than a pamphlet. On first impression it promises to be no less impressive than the others. A copper and red iridescent sheen, glimmers over what could only be described as scales. There is no way this is what I think it is. The stories my father told us were just that, stories, meant to amaze and bewilder. The unexpectedly abrasive scales lift from the cover as if laid down and fixed in place individually like plate armour.

When I turned to the kitchen to make breakfast, I noticed a big parcel wrapped in a red ribbon with a note, I know you always wanted this edition. I hope you like it. P.S. Breakfast is on the pan. E A smile lit up my face as I tugged off the red ribbon and opened the gift paper to reveal a beautiful hardcover of one of my favorite authors, Jane Austen. It was The Complete Novels of Jane Austen in lilac purple leather-bound hardcover. The book was heavy, but I was in utter awe at its beauty and the intricate design on the front cover. I loved it. I adored it, and I knew if I could, I would keep this edition on a pedestal.
