It felt good to be a part of something at least. The rest of class was really just notes. The school gave us actual work on the first day of school. Davina and I stayed quiet the rest of class, she doodled on her desk, sometimes tipping her water bottle and leaning to the side and grabbing some tissues and wiping it, just to fix her masterpiece. She seemed almost stuck in that moment, as she would occasionally look back up and use her pencil to shade with grey on the desks.
