It was a truth too small to be noticed, too quiet to be inverted, too fundamental to be edited. Its first test came not with a bang, but with a sigh. A being of immense age and power, who had been born in the early days of the Genres, grew weary. It had experienced every possible story arc, every twist, every ending. It had been a hero, a villain, a lover, a fool. It had lived in realities of pure poetry and others of brutalist realism. It had seen it all. And it was bored. A boredom so profound it threatened to unravel its own consciousness.

I couldn't even eat out of boredom because of how full I was. I gave a frustrated sigh and threw myself on the bed. God, why did I feel so bored? I wasn’t lying before when I told Victor I was more of a homebody. It wasn’t like I actually wanted to go out and do something. So why couldn’t I find something to do here?

They ate the food in silence. After eating, they moved to the living room debating on which movie to watch. "Let's watch Lion King" nafisa suggested . "And why? "Khadija questioned. "Do I look like a baby to you "she added. Nafisa dropped the topic of watching cartoons before her cousin would take it far, they decided on watching The Meg which nafisa found weird . She doesn't like action or romantic movies, she would rather watch cartoon for the rest of her life. The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes.

I didn't realize that I was sitting here on the boulder for a few minutes, I got up and walked ahead of Sandro to the resthouse. When I entered my room, I heaved a sighed out of boredom, minutes had passed and I'm already bored inside the resthouse. What am I going to do now? This is why I don't want to come here, I will die in boredom and I think it wasn't a noble way to die, though cutting my wrist is not a noble way to fie either but whatever. There are no malls you can go to, you can do nothing but look at the beautiful views of Paradise Island, it is fun to look at the island but if I look at it on my entire stay here, I will go crazy when I return to the city.

CHAPTER 60 – Zara’s POV Feeling incredibly bored, I found myself aimlessly wandering through the entire house, having already taken a walk by the beach earlier. The overwhelming boredom felt like being trapped in a cage, confined and restricted in my movements. How much longer would my life be like this? With nothing else to do, I decided to head to the kitchen and cook something to eat. Pancakes, cupcakes, noodles, and more. But even that became tiresome, so I returned to the living room to watch TV.

How do we plan for Lorenzo? The night is over. I was starting to get bored because I wasn’t doing anything, so while we were lying down and the light was off, I spoke. I don’t want to die of being too boring here in this place. With a satisfied smile, I walked back to my cubicle and awaited the drama. Barely two hours later, different sighs and groans rang through the office. A guy named Jace was the first to lash out. He dumped the manuscript with a huge thud and announced loudly to the office, “I'm done! This is the most boring and uneventful story I've read in my life.” Anna groaned from her seat. “Emily, are you sure this is really Wesley's book?” “How can the man who had written so many genuis books write this?” complained another colleague.

I shouldn't care though because I have always been a loner. I get up and go fix myself something to eat and head back to my room. I turn on the radio and listen to music while I am eating. When I finished eating I put a movie in and try to get into it so I can try and forget about how bored I am. 3 movies later and I am still bored and there is nothing to do. My father is on his computer chatting away with women from different states. I walk into the living room and tell him I am bored. I ask if we can go out and do something but like always I get not right now. I told him I was bored and he looks at me and says,

Carrie Boredom is a disease. I’ll tell you. Two weeks have already passed since my father’s decision to call off the marriage. But I have been stuck in my room since then. And now, I think that my hotel room is my designated purgatory. Nothing I did was fun. Even N*****x was boring to me. Shocking, right? I mean, I should be jumping and throwing pillows recklessly since I am not getting married to a stranger anymore.
