Book Borrowed Time Novels & Stories

He thinks I stole his boyfriend from him. “If you’re giving me this shitty attitude just because you think I’m with your boyfriend then you better drop the act. He’s not even my type.” “You wish!” Miles fired back. Someone cleared his throat loudly and when I turned around, I saw the book Keeper. There was a book in his left hand with a black cover. I was expecting him to appear with a massive book but what was in his hand could barely amount to 200 pages. He dumped the book on the counter. “There you go. Our policy states that every borrowed book must be returned in three days.”

Please! “Where’s the book?” she said then remove her gaze on mine and focus on organizing the books on her desk. “I forgot it.” I simply said and look at her apologizing even though she can’t see it. I forgot to give back the five books I borrowed last week. I’ve been so busy with this incoming deadline and because of….Skylar.

WORK ~~ALICIA~~ Well, this class was a complete waste of time, because tell me why the lecturer kept reading a textbook for us, a textbook that we have to buy to pass the course. I guess I’m never attending this class again then, I stepped out of the class and headed straight to work at the library. I greeted Mrs Pat [she insisted I call her that], headed to the back office, dropped my bag on the shelf and pinned my tag on my shirt. Heading to the new books that arrived today, I went to sack them in their respective shelves, ranging from horror to education, to all sorts of topics. When I was done I went behind the counter to input the books into the system, by the time I was done inputting

Standing in the center of the living room, Alex found it difficult to breathe for the first time. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. It was a delivery person with a postcard mailed from Aspurg ten years ago. I had written it in my elegant handwriting. "To us ten years from now, may our love remain as it was in the beginning." Alex rushed out of the villa and called his assistant frantically. "Where's my wife? She's been missing for a month, and none of you noticed?" His assistant, Caleb Grover, trembled on the other end. "Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter said she wanted to go on a retreat for meditation and didn't want anyone to disturb her... We thought—"

He walked down the hall to the entrance, seeing the beauty of crystals and buildings around them, the librarian looked like a dark elf, long blue hair, blue skin, statuesque body under a name tag and a tight suit, was looking at them curiously. - What would you like? – He questioned. - I'd like to borrow it to read the friends' book. - He asked. - Sorry, due to several theft attempts we will not be able to borrow it for reading. - He said. - So, can I read it inside the building? – He questioned.

During my three-year-old son's preschool physical, his blood type didn't match mine or my wife's. I had just printed the divorce papers when I suddenly heard my son's voice. [This disgusting man is so stupid. He's raised me, his own little brother, as his son for years and still has no idea!] [Lol, hurry up and get divorced. Once they divorce, I can cling openly to my real mom!] [And divorced men are unwanted anyway. From now on, every dollar he earns will be mine!] My wife was still anxiously explaining, "Honey! I really never betrayed you! Do you really want a divorce?" I looked at my son's tightly closed lips and excited eyes, then tore up the divorce papers instead. "No divorce. S

“Seven-day loan, remember?” “What was that?” Eleanor turned to face him. “Seven-day loan. That was the deal.” Daniel nodded, but it was clear he wasn’t quite nodding in agreement. “That was the deal. The deal can change.” “No. It can’t,” Eleanor said, suddenly angry. “It’s not a joke. I’m not a library book. I’m not a part of the permanent collection.” Daniel said nothing for a long time. “You could be.”

“Yeah. You’ll need this for your book anyway, right?” My breath caught between relief and emotion. “Thank you ” Liam smiled faintly, then looked at the book in my hands. “Let’s get lunch now.” I blinked quickly and checked the watch on my wrist. My eyes widened. “Oh my God it’s almost one.” I couldn’t believe how fast time had passed. It felt like I’d only entered the library ten minutes ago. Liam stepped closer, gathered the few books he was holding, and walked toward the counter. I followed behind him, carrying the beautiful-covered book, afraid that if I let go, it might disappear.

When he saw me, he smiled. "Hey. I’ve been waiting for you for five minutes." I felt a twinge of guilt. Five minutes might not sound like much—but time is precious. And once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. "Sorry I’m late. I stopped by the library to borrow some books that might help with our essay." "It’s okay, Alera." I sat beside him. Among the P-Boys, he was the kindest. Not as arrogant as the others.

I never had the opportunity to meet the Arab who helped us, but I would be forever grateful that he helped us through such difficult times. “Hanna, can you stay in attendance while I go to the bank?” asked Mary waking me from my thoughts. "Sure!" I replied, placing the last copy I took out of the box on the children's bookshelf. I headed over to the counter as Mary exited the store. The bookstore was small and very well decorated. We were already close to Christmas and Mary was already starting to think about Christmas decorations. It was a magical time and it was all about books. It was when our revenue increased and that's why Mary asked for a loan from the bank, to increase our stock. She
