It slowly starts pounding in a fluttering way. My expression softens considerably and so does my voice. “What about 1984 and Brave New World? Both are dystopian novels, but the societies described in each book are different. We can discuss the social orders and their influence on the societies.” That’s when I hear a long heavy sigh. He twirls his pen and looks up at me, revealing his sharp handsome features.

“It will be much like it was at the World’s Fair opening, Evelyn. Simply follow my lead. Can you do that?” Evelyn’s pulse kicked up a notch. Their trip to the World’s Fair had been like visiting an alternate existence. It went beyond simply politely 'familiar'. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.

One minute I was checking the city's perimeter, and the next, I was deep into something called "global warming." Honestly, the human world was a beautifully disorganized disaster. Apparently, human men had spent centuries hogging all the power just to burn the planet to a crisp.

He stared down at my book. "I don't know how you feel that is enough to truly escape." He shakes his head at my method. "I find it a bit more lasting than drinking. Other than that they are pretty much the same. They both leave you broken at the end of the experience. But at least you can take something away from reading." He scoffs at my words. "What could you possibly take away from reading?" He spits. "How on earth can it help you escape like drinking or drugs can?"

It struck me with strong interest that the author compares bees to humans of their struggle against the weather and other dangers to create beeswax is equivalent to humans working together to create precious commodities, the beeswax being the sweetness the title is referencing,” Ash Parvad said. “Yes.
