The Merman, My Man
Laying limply on the reef, I curled within his arms.
The sun was slowly rising over the distant surface of the ocean, and dawn slowly pierced the darkness. The bright rays tore through the black curtain to illuminate the surface of the ocean, dispelling the gray smoke wafting over it and bringing brightness to everything. Only Dicken and I were hidden behind a reef, and yet I felt a sense of security—my preference for the darkness seemed to be growing after Dicken and I came together, just like how I was drawn into the bottomless blackness in his eyes.
