Husband For Rent
Alyana was waiting at our usual corner booth, waving enthusiastically.
“Took you long enough,” she teased as I slid into the seat across from her, still half-asleep.
“I was being a responsible wife,” I shot back, stifling a yawn. “Cooking breakfast and packing lunch for my hard-working husband.”
Alyana snorted, nearly choking on her coffee. “Hard-working husband? Since when are you two a real couple? Baka need mo mauntog somewhere ha, ”
“Never,” I replied quickly, rolling my eyes. “But that doesn’t mean I can’t be polite.”
