"You breathed in there?" I nodded, narrowed my eyes at him. "You say that like it should be impossible." He nodded. "It's essentially a vacuum, Goddess. There is no oxygen. Holding your breath is the only way to keep from imploding. Literally. Fae can breathe in there, but only one or two breaths. Otherwise our lungs give out." I studied him for a few moments. Nodded. Anna let out a shaky breath. “That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard,” she said softly. But she still looked at him. And slowly, her breathing began to stabilize. Just slightly. Adrian noticed immediately. “Good,” he said quietly. Another pulse tried to rise. But it weakened. Anna frowned. “It is still there,” she said. “Yes,” Adrian replied. “But controlled.” Silence. She leaned slightly against the wall. “…this is exhausting,” she whispered. Adrian did not respond immediately.

Breathing was near on impossible, I felt like my lungs had completely closed over. The pain in my chest was astounding.
