The Coming of the Quiet Rain
When Jake wanted to wear his ring again, he could not find it anymore.
Fortunately, we still had our design draft lying around, and my ring had some chips too, so we decided to order a new pair.
But before the new rings arrived, our marriage had already shattered.
I instinctively touched the faint ring mark on my ring finger.
I, too, had thrown away my ring at some point in time.
“Forget it. Even if it’s the same ring, our marriage has broken down, and we can’t go back to how we were before.”
Perhaps the repeated string of rejections made Jake finally blow up.
