I mumble and continue cleaning as I grab the last plate. "Lippy! Come back!" The voice echoes as if in a cave. I felt a breeze grazing by my neck as I felt a tickle. I touch the back of my neck and look behind me to see that ripple effect. It was glowing and static. "Lippy!" I put the plate down and approach the unusual mysterious thing in the middle of the kitchen. Then the ripple, like a tv, suddenly pops a scene of a forest. A forest I know. "Go away, Nick!" A little girl screamed, and the ripple screen became high-quality.

It wasn’t enough to scare her off, though, and Halley lunged at Beth as Ryan began to float away, still not conscious enough to help himself. Beth was aware that the creek meandered for about a quarter mile before a small, but powerful waterfall merged the creek with the lagoon. She couldn’t let him get away from her, but Halley was coming at her again, and this time, Beth was close enough for Halley to scratch her face.

Lily recognized one of them as Jake. The pursuers crossed the brook, but soon after, they retraced their steps, hastily following the stream downstream. Lily, keeping a safe distance, signalled her mother to follow, moving stealthily and taking cover whenever possible. As a gentle breeze trailed the brook upstream, Jake and his companion were unaware of their presence, unable to catch their scent from behind. Soon enough Jake and the other left the brook. "This is—wow." Zac chuckled softly. "My grandfather was a big reader. He quoted literature as if he were a human book himself." I turned to look at Zac, my eyes lit up. "Zac, this is amazing." Zac shrugged nonchalantly, smiling. "I thought you'd like it." He walked over to one wall, skimming the shelves until he pulled out a book. "I wanted you to have this." I looked at the book he held out for me to take. It was called "Bloom" by Kelle Hampton. I smiled at the title, meeting his eyes. "Wha—but why?"

She is something special. Turns out River was a rebel, loved speed, and sports. She is a hard core Texan fan and loves watching the Houston Rockets, never missing a game. Apparently, she played basketball since middle school, as a point guard, and was good at it. What surprised me the most was when she spoke about River and her bike. She told me how she traded her old bike for a faster one that she got at the age of 16. River loves her bike so much that she named her Raven because she is matte black. Well, no wonder she gave me that name. She also told me that where she is from they’re big on riding dirt bikes and off-road vehicles called buggies.

Aria asked and Britt and I wordlessly agreed as I moved over lifting the remote off the nightstand handing it to Aria. "What are we watching?" Britt asked her. "Princess and the frog," she replied finding the movie earning smiles from us both. Contentment held me in its grasp and at that moment, I could envision forever. Even though the world was still falling apart I was at peace because I found love not only in myself but in the people around me and I guess that's as close to happily ever after as one can get. Nothing in life is perfect and ever will be if you let society define your perception of perfection.
