It sounded just like a bubble machine in Jai’s previous world, but the machine in this aquarium was different in the sense that it wasn’t made of plastic nor metal. Jai didn’t know what it was made of, but he was somehow grateful that it could distract him a bit in the silence.

Balloons. A life-sized mascot, too. Just say the words and it’s all yours.” “No thanks,” I say, pulling down the sun visor and flipping open the mirror. I check my reflection and, thankfully, my anxiety didn’t melt my mascara. “I’m more of a Squidward girl.”
