I laughed softly as he wrapped his arms around me and carried me inside the lone cabin of this island. The cabin is beautiful. It looks like the ancient houses made of nipa and bamboo. Very simple. When we entered, it was, actually, not that simple because the interior furnishings as well as the interior design of the said cabin were modern. High ceilings with large wooden beams supported a spacious room with a stone fireplace on one side. Thick cream-colored carpet partially covered the shiny wooden floor, and the large window on the other side of the room showed a direct view of the lake and the mountains in the distance.

He grabbed two duffle bags in the back and led me up to the cabin. We traveled up the verandah. Ryder dropped the bags and fished for the key in his pocket.
