She studied me. Like she was peeling away layers of armor to see what was underneath. I didn’t flinch.
Finally, she exhaled, loud and sharp, and pushed the door open.
"Fine. Inside. But if your presence pisses off Ronan again, I’ll let him eat you."

We followed her inside. The cabin was dark and sparse, but clean. The walls were lined with bookshelves, old weaponry, and faded photographs. A fire smoldered quietly in the hearth, crackling like it resented our intrusion.
