Caleb Book Novels & Stories

“Mom, is there someone else like me out there?” The question startled me. “What do you mean?” “You said we're different from the others and that I'm special. Are there others like us?” He asked again. I didn't know what to tell him. Was it too early to tell him the truth? “Why do you ask honey?” He shrugged, looking thoughtful. “In my dreams, there’s a man who looks like me… but older.” My heart skipped a beat. I'd always felt Caleb's presence tugging at my subconscious. I dreamt of him, visions of his dark eyes and powerful aura. They felt like warnings but I always tried to ignore them.

"You might feel that way right now, but... One day you will beg me to mark your neck; remember that." Oh-my-god, he is a cliché! What book did he step out from? Fifty Shades of Grey? No regular guy would say, "one day, you will beg me to mark your neck." I bark at him. "That won't ever happen! Not in this life or the next!" Caleb's response is to walk out of the kitchen while laughing to himself, and my cheeks burn. I would never beg him to mark me! I'm too proud to do that, and since Caleb is so sure I will submit to him, I've made it my life's biggest mission to resist that freaking fool!

Creatures that wanted nothing but war and ruin. I approach the door and place a hand on one of the handles and open it gently, trying not to make a sound. I spend my effort in vain as the hinges creak and the echo reverberates off the walls, making everyone within the corridor know that someone is opening the council door and those within the council room, aware that someone is shamefully late. I step into the room, heat stirring the blood in the sides of my face, and turn to close the door. I take some time to compose myself before committing my face to the council, which at present comprises my older half-brother, Valark, the Army Commander, Gunther, and the King, our Alpha.

“Tell me what you and Richard talked about? He helped you control your wolf, right? Tell me how he behaved, did you suspect his motives ever?” “Uh- no.” Caleb glances at them. “I knew that he wasn’t looking for his siblings because he looked much older than Charlotte but- but I never could have guessed that he wanted to kill her. He was like a big brother to me. He helped me learn how to control my wolf, how to use the senses, and how to stay hidden amongst the humans. I really considered him my mentor.” Caleb chuckles sadly. “If not for the magic covering my wolf’s color, he’d have killed me as soon as he could.” “Hmm…are you sure that you remember nothing else that could be helpful to us?”

Shirley was running late. He sighed, "Today Brighton shall be liberated from the foulness of its ancestors." The Chief Advisor announced solemnly. "Caleb there has terrorized Brighton from the moment he was born. He was a stubborn menace as a kid and even greedier as an adult. Instead of accepting his fate, Caleb tried to find his way around it and committed a thousand crimes in the process. His covetousness led him to try to kill his junior brother a lot of times, it led him to the coup and it led him to corrupt himself with witchcraft. The Moon Goddess be praised, we will finally put an end to his vileness."

“If we want answers, we need information. And right now, the best source we have is Devon.” My stomach dropped. “No,” I said immediately. Caleb didn’t look surprised. “It might be the only way.” “I’m not going near him,” I said firmly. Images flashed through my mind. His smirk. His voice. The way he had looked at me in the hall. The way he had enjoyed every second of that test. “I can’t,” I added, quieter this time. “I can barely keep up this act around him as it is.” Caleb’s gaze softened slightly, but his voice didn’t. “You didn’t find anything about shapeshifters in the book.”

Caleb said, looked between Pete and Derek, and walked out, this time around, towards the elevator. "I can't believe that bastard!" Caleb yelled as he smashed everything on the vanity to the ground, well then, guess we'd need new products for everything, thankfully, I hadn't left my miraculous body lotion from Carla on the table, or any other thing if important for that matter, I breathed out a sigh of relieve at the realization of this. "I feel they've more than the run in plan for us tomorrow," Nate spoke up, he always knew the right thing to say, and he's always right, running Crescent pack with him sure made it easier for Caleb as the alpha, h was the male version of Carla.

“He came from the west coast. He left his pack when he was 18, on his own accord.” “Why?” I asked without thinking. “Sorry, it’s none of my business.” “Actually, it is. You are the Luna of the pack, so you should know the heart of our people,” he said, but I saw a shadow in his eyes, so he probably linked Caleb about it. “He doesn’t mind it,” he added. “Caleb is the second son of an Alpha on the west coast. There were some complications during the pregnancy, and his mom died while giving birth. His father nearly went mad with grief, but he really tried to keep going for the three kids,” he started with the story.

“That was smart.” “It’s just the beginning,” I replied. That was only the first crack. Very soon, the entire structure would collapse. Caleb suddenly straightened. “Oh right,” he muttered before reaching inside his coat. My eyes followed his movement curiously until he pulled out an old book wrapped carefully in dark cloth. Immediately, my heartbeat quickened because I recognized the book without even trying. “The Book of Life,” I whispered. Caleb nodded slowly. Josephine’s eyes widened in shock. “You actually brought it here?”

Silver Stardust was rather quiet for the rest of the afternoon and Leah and her mom kept themselves busy packing out the rest of the books onto the relevant shelves. **** Caleb almost ran home he was so excited to dive into his books. He barely greeted his mother before he was upstairs and at his desk. Caleb decided to start with the book that caught his eye in the store. He was amazed to read all about the various experiences of the other new wolves, each experiencing one or another scenario that he had. Caleb almost devoured the first book, reading it from cover to cover until late into the night. He could barely fall asleep he was so wired by the time the book was done. He couldn’t wait t
