Can Shrine Maidens Marry Novels & Stories

"I want us to get married, Mara. The Moon goddess herself urged me to embrace this path for our happiness and protection. Will you marry me?" Mara's eyes welled up with tears, a mixture of joy and sincerity. "Oh, Jake," she whispered, "of course, I'll marry you. But, let's keep it simple. I don't want our union to cause issues with other packs. A quiet ceremony, just between us and those closest to our hearts."

Mariah asks cutting past the bullshit. I swallow down the building saliva in my mouth and readjust in my seat. "I wouldn't say it is the right choice," I whisper and she snorts. "We are shifters. Every shifter in the world knows they have a mate. Unless you are widowed, no shifter should get married. It's a dumb choice," Mariah snaps and I have to look away from her. The logic behind her statement is solid, but I followed my heart at the time and chose to marry my best friend.

“A drought is coming. How about we consider taking a bride for one of the Alpha Princes from that pack across the lake as Sana Azalea said?” “That’s not exactly what she meant for us to do,” Alpha Jake said with conviction. In reality, Sana Azalea and the rest of the Moon Goddess disciples actually were against the idea of mateship rites. They believed that a fixed marriage would hinder the process of a person meeting their fated mate. “We’ll hold another meeting later for these things,” Alpha Jake exclaimed before turning to his beta. “Inform the alpha princes about this meeting. Tell them to prepare.” “Yes, Alpha.”

He turns and walks away, the other two members giving them looks of slight sympathy which, if they were some pitty couple, would look beyond empathetic and sympathetic. They follow Jones and Sia sighs. "You don't think you and I will be forced to marry for the sake of our daughter, do you?" "I sure hope not. No offense to you obviously it's just that I'd really happy to marry Bright and you are already my brother wife and it's not games if thorns." "I know." She smiles at him. Man, Type, Michael and Ram approach them, Asj standing in front of Sia when he sees Ram.

Mira said. Siera stared at her in confusion. “Just promise me this, that until I figure it out, that you will not get married to him. I am not saying that you should stay away from him. But do not bond yourself to him permanently until I am sure that you will be safe here. So you can not let him mark you and you cannot be married to him yet” Mira said. It was crazy and unconventional but Siera agreed to her sister's request.

She lifted her cup to hide her expression. “And after?” she asked, trying to sound casual. Lena’s voice softened again, her lips curving into a tender smile. “After, you spend the rest of your lives together. Most mates have a ceremony, like a wedding. But it’s not necessary, because once you’ve mated and marked, there’s no going back. No undoing it. You’re bound.” Aria’s heart thudded. No going back.

"You see, it's like a test for teenagers, not teenagers, to check if someone is a Virgin..." Tessa stare confused. "You don't understand me right?" Mandy asked, she nodded to indicate she didn't. "The thing is, Sharon is supposed to get married to Lauren and then I ended up with him because she said he is ugly and a monster, blab blab blab..." Mandy rolled her head, as she kept saying blab blab blab, Tessa too rolled her eyes following Mandy's head.

He kissed both his mates tenderly. “That’s still my daughter and we are not talking about mating and marking”, Shane looked pale at the thought of his baby girl having a mate. Mariana cleared her throat circling back to their previous conversation, “Not a whole lot, just that Ava is Lennox’s mate and there will be many who want her, and with the help of her mate, she will claim her birthright. But, there will be obstacles and pain. My visions are subjective, they can always change”, she finished.

Maddi asked. "No. And they can't marry either." Carter replied. "Why the hell not?" Maddi demanded. "It's our law. We can't tell humans about us, we can't get them pregnant, and marriage is forbidden, unless the council approves it. But they never do. Your sister's case was the first ever. And it's only because Liam got her pregnant." Carter explained. "That is screwed up! You can't help who you fall in love with. And for some council to have the power to tell you that you can't marry them pisses me off!" Maddi retorted.

The final verdict came like a blow when my mom declared, "We've come to an agreement. If you want Angel back, you and Drex will have to get married." "What?!" The two of us exclaimed in shock, our voices resonating in perfect unison. This can not be happening...
