Sitting at a table with Kyle, Steve, Suzie, and Grayson I cannot stop myself from staring at Alpha Zac as he addresses the pack. I thought Grayson was delicious-looking, but fuck he was just a snack compared to Alpha Zac. He is built like a sex god. He was at least a foot taller than me, with chocolate brown hair that was perfectly tousled. Longer on the top, short on the sides. Piercing blue eyes, the same color as the rivers around us. An inexplicable sense of foreboding enveloped him. Approaching the building, he spotted a familiar figure standing at the entrance. "Mr. Cyrus," Carl greeted. His towering figure was clad in a black suit, and his expression was unreadable behind dark sunglasses. Even when standing still, his powerful frame radiated an air of preparedness. Though there were many within the Azure Clan, Cyrus recognized Carl immediately. As the former head of the Finch family, he knew well who Carl was—a man known for his efficiency, combat skills, discretion, and loyalty. Carl possessed many qualities Cyrus valued in a person.

However, that smile quickly faded as a car hit us from my side, sending our car crashing to a wall. My heart raced as I tried opening my eyes. Both grew heavy, and the smell of blood filled my nostrils making my hands shake. I forced my eyes open, ignoring how dizzy I suddenly was to frown when I saw Ezra’s eyes closed as blood poured from his head. Armando was not even in the car as the glass around the car broke completely. The driver who was initially sitting in front of me, had blood coming out of his neck and head. Glass ripped his neck, pinning him against the car, and I couldn’t help but shake my head as I realized that he was dead.

ZARA'S POV Like what you see? I crouched, whispering in Carl's ears. He scoffed, rolling his eye. “Don't flatter yourself, I've seen better,” he retorted. I glanced over at the man standing next to Carl. He had an evil glint in his eye but smiled immediately I looked at him. He was also handsome and well-built, but not as handsome as Carl. “I'm Zara, princess of Azrael, it's a pleasure to meet you,” I greeted with a slight bow.

Carl replied with a loud voice. "You never wanted Shrevolsky to be a nuisance and guess the ironic part of the story,you cannot help but admit that his men are currently the news" Carl was pissed; he felt like walking up to the throne and strangling Perez to death. Carl was of the opinion that Perez talked rather to intelligently that he couldn't out match him word for word. "So what is the proposal again" He asked after a tensed silence. "I need some of your men and some of my men to combine force together and take this cartel out" Carl revealed.

He insisted, and before I could respond, Charles answered. “You better hold on tight then. This isn’t going to be a smooth ride.” He pulled back the gear. The car reversed and stopped all of a sudden, causing me to lean forward abruptly. “I warned you.” He added, as he turned the steering aggressively and made his way out of the compound. “Did you see Betty at all?” I asked, as I firmly held onto the grab handle. “Betty? No, I didn’t. She was with Celine the last time I saw her.” Drex answered, his voice shivering as the car kept going up and down.

I was definitely dreaming, I decide. I gaze down at it, seeing a passage of small font, and a slightly faded picture...Of Casper. He sits on a throne, almost lounging on it. Somehow, he looks younger, more youthful and carefree. A golden crown is placed upon his head, bejeweled with glittering diamonds, rubies and jade. A cloak of red velvet draped across his shoulders. He looks like pure royalty. "That is Jasper two days before he was meant to be named as Alpha. A day before he disappeared," June tells me.

I am more than willing to help carry that burden with you.” I said nothing, just pressed a kiss to her hair. But as she relaxed in my arms, my mind wasn’t quiet. Lorenzo D’Amaris. A name that came from nowhere, clean background, smooth entry, too smooth. The two of us walked to our bed, and I smiled as she curled up beside me as I wrapped my arm around her.
