Even the old man doesn’t have that talent. Cai Kang noticed the cat staring at her. “What’s with this cat?” She said noticing its back. It looks patched and scarred. It probably got attacked by dogs or had an abusive owner. Noticing him, the cat became more hostile. “Geez kitty, I’m not gonna hurt you.” She said sweetly. “There now, be careful. I just healed your wound. Don’t get yourself hurt again.” The cat continued to growl. It got Cai Kang suspicious and she tried to pet the cat before it scratched him.

The calico cat’s tail suddenly flicked upward, and in the puddle at its feet, it traced out a perfect candlestick chart—its tail moved with a precision that seemed almost too deliberate. “Come home with me,” Takuto said without really thinking. The words left his mouth as he pulled open his raincoat. “I need a CFO.” The calico cat tilted its head, studying him for a moment before it darted suddenly into a nearby alleyway. Takuto, stunned for a second, followed quickly. When he reached the alley, the cat was already seated behind a makeshift “desk” created out of stacked cardboard boxes. The office was oddly professional, adorned with:

The way it meows seems to be saying ‘My, my’. I looked behind. A pair of orange coloured cat eyes reflected the moonlight— which it surprised me. What surprised me is— the cat is normal sized, and it is alone. Compared to the big Cithaeron lions and the enormous Fenrir wolves, this cat`s size is normal to any household pet. It is a black cat. It speaks. Then, this must be the misfortune cat.

It appeared to be a fur. Cassandra pulled it out of the box to get a better view of it. “My goodness. It’s gorgeous.” Their father rounded the sofa. “It’s a Montana Lynx. The trim is white fox.” “Oh, it’s beautiful,” she said as she stood. The box fell off her lap and into the floor. She put it on. “It fits perfectly.” “I take it from the sparkle in your brown eyes that I am forgiven,” his father said. Cassandra beamed. She walked over to him and kissed his cheek. “You’re forgiven, but you should still go to confession.”

Cyrus glanced into the rearview mirror. In the vast, boundless snowfield behind them, it felt as though something was following. He could not see anything. Yet his instincts told him, with unsettling certainty, that it had to be that powerful cat monster. "So it really can't bear to part with Barbara after all?" Cyrus muttered. Cats were the hardest creatures to understand. Domesticated pets aside, stray cats and village cats that lived half-wild all retained strong feral instincts. They never truly trusted humans, and taming them was extraordinarily difficult.

He sure as hell looked more intimidating than most, but somehow he was rather gentle. "I have a cat. Her name is Mittens. She was a stray and I took her in after I left my pack. I could relate, you know?" Carlton explained and moved closer to the wound again. I shut my eyes as he pressed the tip of the prongs in. Metal slipped in my blood, looking for the bullet that might leave me cripple. "She is ginger and black with white patches all along her body. I built her a cat play house before I came here. Some of my friends said they would look after her. I miss that girl every damn day," he admitted.

Cass leaned forward and her smile grew. Their dad’s sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Balric looked unimpressed, surprising Dannie. “I’m flattered, but the answer is no. I’m not interested.” Not many men passed on Cass ever. Their dad cleared his throat, giving Cass his alpha stare — narrowed eyes with his lips pressed in a thin line, and his expression a stony sternness. “That’ll do Cassandra.” She shrugged, leaned back in her chair, still smiling. “And Danielle. She—”

Since both of the cats belonged to same ancient specie of cats, it did not take that long for Nero and Monami to find each other and meet again. Tracking each other's scents was all it takes for antediluvian cats to sense another presence of their kinds. Likewise, under the shade of the moonlight, the small cat that looks like a cotton was gazing on the stars. Facing her back at the approaching figure of Nero. Nero exhales a mouthful of air, relaxing. It was like he was attending his first date. He gently walks towards Monami, calling its name using the sweetest voice that he can muster.
