LOVE ON THE BRAIN

LOVE ON THE BRAIN

There’d been a time, back when Chance first hit the financial papers, that women started lining up front to back with ‘true love’ written all over their faces, gazes filled with admiration and lust and a prenup ready to be used in their purse. Chance wasn’t coming from a well-known family. But he was the most ambitious man she had ever seen. He always told her that he is the captain of his ship, the master of his destiny. In school, Chance was the kid who couldn’t get a commitment for the prom because he didn’t have a trust fund. But he just worked hard and got extremely rich and famous.

Such a sweet story! I was hoping for maybe a little more at the end, but otherwise this was another beautifully written story by this author! Job well done for sure! ... truly enjoy reading your stories!

ABSOLUTELY fantastic! Great character growing, intense chemistry, and such a great story of love conquering all. Found this lovely gem and couldn't put it down, read it in one day. Some errors here and there but nothing to distract from the wonderful story. Great job author!!!

A Chance Reunion

A Chance Reunion

I never expected Nicole's biological father to actually be my best friend's older brother. So, did he still remember me? He probably didn't. After all, so much time had passed… Just as I was lost in my own head, a man's voice interrupted my thoughts. "I'm done with moving all the boxes outside." "Oh, thank you!" There wasn't much space in the storage room in the first place. With Frederick stepping inside, it became even more cramped inside here. I took a small step back instinctively, accidentally knocking off something next to me in the process. Before I could even react, Frederick bent down and picked the item up.

When An Enemy Becomes A Husband

When An Enemy Becomes A Husband

“I don’t envy you for anything. But this... this is heaven.” “You’re welcome to use it anytime,” Chance offered, leaning against one of the columns, his hands in his pockets, observing me casually. “I want to steal it.” I grinned at him, then turned again to read through the book titles to get an idea of his reading selection. “I didn’t know you were an avid reader.” My fingers were lightly brushing against the book covers. Some appeared very old. “I enjoy it, but frankly I mostly read business journals lately,” he commented. “I don’t remember the last time I entered this room.”

I Bet You Can't

I Bet You Can't

Hopefully with more people here, they will refrain from anything like that, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Chance sighs. “But you two are in love. That makes a difference.” I mentally shake my head. This is why Chance needs to get laid. He has some strange idea that sex is like some ultimate connection between people. However, I beg to differ. It is just sex. Yes, it does make you feel good, but nothing more. Just to make sure that it stays as being just sex, I never hook-up with the same girl twice.

Another Chance

Another Chance

“Then rest. We’ll speak soon.” We were led to a room on the third floor. It hadn’t been used often, but it was clean and warm a far cry from the ruins I’d imagined. But rest didn’t come easy. That night, Mark led me to a hidden chamber behind the library—one few would even know existed. The moment we stepped inside, the air shifted. Heavy. Thick with memory. Secretive. On a stone table rested a worn leather book. Mark picked it up and handed it to me.

A Second Chance at Life

A Second Chance at Life

My grandmother patted my shoulder, soothing me. "Nightmares always end." I nodded. Not everyone gets a second chance at life. But everyone has the chance to wake up from a nightmare. If you ever feel trapped in one, you must wake up and save yourself—no matter how many times it takes.

A Second Chance

A Second Chance

Stella Romilly's pov, “Foolish foolish me,” I muttered as I scrambled out of my seat and moved to arrange my mess. I picked a few pens, papers… I saved the cards for the last but as I was picking the cards, my eyes caught a business identity card. It was at one far end. A little bit far away from me. Almost under the side table. I went to pick it up and bring it closer for a proper look. Bella Goody

The Last Chance

The Last Chance

My mouth stretched into a smile so wretched I could feel it cracking. "Vivian, do you remember how many chances are left? Aren't you afraid you'll use them all?" She stopped, then slowly turned around. Clearly, she thought the question was absurd. Still, she let out a dismissive laugh. "One hundred is a big number. It's not that easy to use them all." Yes. One hundred chances sounded like a lot. But in six years of marriage, Vivian had indulged Caleb far more often than anyone should.

Three Chances, Then Never Again

Three Chances, Then Never Again

Zoey hummed and withdrew her gaze, fixing her attention on Sean, as though the rest of the world had faded away. She was my wife and Jonathan's mother, yet here she was showing affection for another man. The irony was sobering, and the thought drew a self-mocking smile from me. I had wanted to tell her about my resignation, but it seemed unnecessary. She had never cared about me, about Jonathan, or about this hollow marriage. When I returned to my desk, I received a call from Jonathan's smartwatch. "Daddy, there's an early dismissal today for a parent-teacher meeting. Ms. Chance has brought me to your office."
