“That’s great to hear. What’s the bad news?” There was a pause on the other end. “The bad news is, it’s someone you know. We’re sending you a video with all the details.” My stomach churned as I thanked him for their hard work and ended the call. I stared at my phone, the notification for the video already on my screen. My fingers hovered over the play button, but I hesitated. This could change everything, and I didn’t want to spoil my mood before my date with James. I decided to deal with it later.
