A Twist Of Fate

A Twist Of Fate

After a few feeble attempts Edward rolled his eyes in an amused manner and lifted me up before agily perching himself next to me. "It's strange, at first I didn't notice it, but you have thoughts that are fully fleshed out and almost like you're speaking words directly into your mind, but then you have an underlying layer of thoughts." He tapped my temple briefly. "They almost seem involuntary, just little things, mostly sounds but sometimes it's like words pop into your mind and you don't even notice them at first. At times they are coherent but mostly it's things like at lunch you just kept repeating 'avocados from mexico.'" He laughed and shook his head like it was the most ridiculous thi

LOVE ME LIKE A CURSE

Intense focus. But that still didn’t explain why it had never happened before. I’d painted my whole life. Painted through deadlines and sleepless nights back in college. Painted until my fingers cramped and my back ached. I’d lost track of time before. I’d disappeared into my work before. I had never bled for it. My fingers drifted unconsciously to my nose again, checking. Still dry. Still normal. I opened another tab. “Involuntary movement during creative flow” Now, the results shifted tone—less medical, more psychological. Words like dissociation and automaticity popped up. The idea that the brain could bypass conscious control during deeply learned activities.

No criticism. No correction. Just observation. “What do you notice,” I asked. They looked at the sequences. Compared them. Watched the flow. “The second is slower,” one said. “Yes.” “Why.” They hesitated. Then one answered. “Too much thinking.” I nodded. “Yes.” Another spoke. “We are trying to understand everything.” “And in doing so,” I said, “you are breaking flow.” Silence. Because they understood. Not from instruction. From observation. “You do not need to process every moment,” I continued.

Instantly, I could tell that I had no control over this form. Thoughts drifted through its head, flowing like a winding stream, but I couldn’t tap into them. The terrain was too rocky, too tumultuous to allow me to get any closer. Instead, I was left with whatever stray thoughts washed ashore and the emotions that followed them.

 REVENGE

REVENGE

An opening to new dimensions OCCURS IN CONSCIOUSNESS and creative intelligence is nothing more than the random product of an evolution that began in a primordial ocean of matter. This view simplifies the enormous complexity of human beings into mere material objects, little more than highly developed animals or thinking biological machines. Our borders are defined by the surface of our skin, and consciousness is nothing more than a simple secretion of that thinking organ known as the brain. Everything we think, feel and know depends on the information we receive through our senses. According to the logic of this materialistic model, consciousness, intelligence, ethics, art, religion, and sci

Conscious Conscience

Conscious Conscience

My breathing got a bit stuffy as I rested my body. "Ha-ah!" My exhaled breath exploded. Every cell in my body, which had been pushed to its limits, was reacting to the movements of my surroundings. I'm starting to pick up on even the tiniest movement in the vicinity. To counteract the blowback of pushing my strength beyond the point of exhaustion, I began shaking my head. 'Who is there….' I sensed someone nearby, fleeting in and out, and continued to slither around without making itself seen.

“You guys were very focused and clear. You were thinking about just that one thing. I’ll need to practice on people who aren’t focused. Stream of consciousness goes fast. I don’t think we should rely on me being able to read people’s minds for information.” “Sure. Thoughts can be random,” Oz said. “People can think about things they would never actually do. So you’re right. It’s not necessarily a reliable mode of intel. But it’s not useless.” Thea nodded. “We’ll put it on the list of things to practice,” Liam said.

I haven't read the whole book yet, only up to chapter 187, but I absolutely love this book. The storyline is amazing, and I keep binge reading even at work when I should be working. It's so hard to put it down. Now that I know it's available in paperback, those are going in my cart today.

I'm not even halfway through this book, and I love it already. It's so different from the usual werewolf books I read simply because it's not about dealing with rejection and surviving abusive family. It's so much more than I thought it would be. Please keep on writing like this it's perfect work.

HER MOTHER’S HUSBAND

HER MOTHER’S HUSBAND

I surfaced and shook my hair from my face and pushed off from the wall. Reach, pull. Reach, pull. The stroke was still there. It was always still there, which was the thing about bodily memory — it didn't store things the way conscious memory did, didn't require the regular retrieval that kept thoughts accessible. It simply kept them, dormant, waiting for the body to ask, and when the body asked it answered immediately and completely. I found my rhythm within the first length and didn't have to think about it again. I swam.

Psycho

"Oh? How?" "Despite your craziness, you have an innocent side. When you smile, it's always natural, that's when you are normal. When you're angry, you will have fury in your eyes and it's very readable. When you're annoyed, you just don't talk unless necessary. But when you have gone psycho, it's only when you have a dangerous smile and empty eyes." I talked. He didn't mention a word. "Because of your actions, it's easy to read you. You have a normal side Garcia, it's just that you can't tell when, that's why-" I stopped as soon as i realised i was talking too much.

Marked by fate

’ Zanthe encourages me as I feel myself trying to pull away from this sensation and return to myself. I breathe through the lurch, trying to come back up, and instead try to maintain my focus. A moment later something shifts. Suddenly I’m overwhelmed by Zanthe’s thoughts and feelings and emotions, her processing, literally everything that’s running through her mind. Something snaps into place, and it’s like the barrier between our consciousness has been removed. The onslaught from her hits so fast I gasp, and Zanthe growls, clearly experiencing all of mine as well. She puts up a small block, like a thin glass membrane. I can still see and hear everything, but now it’s my choice instead of fe
