Charlie craned his neck to see who it was and quickly shouted in delight, “Uncle Ben! You’re here to see me again!” Jamie froze. Ben had been visiting often over the past few days, and while Jamie thought she had gotten used to it, hearing his name still made her instinctively tense. She couldn’t understand why someone as busy as Ben seemed to have all the time in the world to visit them every day. With Charlie in the room, she couldn’t ask. She just watched as Ben walked in, carrying a bag. “I brought you something, Charlie. A new toy. Do you like it?” Ben pulled out a small toy and waved it in front of Charlie’s eyes.

Tugging at Hunter’s hand, we turned around just as his Beta came walking over to us. “Hello, I am Beta Damien. Allow me to escort you back to your home,” he said, bowing his head respectfully. I looked at Hunter who nodded. The beta turned on his heel and started leading us towards, a portal? "Who needs doors when you have portals?" Hunter commented and I eyed him questioningly. He has some explaining to do after what I saw him do several times before. For some reason, I glanced at my right and caught sight of a pair of eyes watching me from the crowd. It was the older woman who helped me escaped. Tears have sprung from her eyes as she looked at me desperately.

Charles leaned back in his chair and played on his phone, probably flirting with some random she-wolf. "What's your name?" The boy looked up but made sure not to make eye contact. "B…Be…Ben, sir." I smiled at him. "What gave me away as being near earlier, Ben?" His whole body stiffened and then relaxed. "You stepped on a twig, sir. I heard the snapping sound then your scent hit me." My smile grew wider. I hadn't even realized I had stepped on a stick. Charles looked up from his phone, now paying attention. I turned my attention from Ben to Charles and stood.

Ben asked, “What do you think about my idea?” “I didn’t do it because I can’t throw far.” “Well, then I’m gonna try and see what happens.” Ben climbed the ladder in the stockroom up to the roof hatch. He grabbed a handful of nuts and bolts to throw as far as he could. He tiptoed over to the edge of the roof and spotted the black sand monster. Counting to himself: One, two, three! Ben threw the nuts and bolts like a fastball. The monster undulated and crackled as it slithered faster than any snake could. Damnit! ‘That thing’s too fast’, he thought. Ben returned to the sales floor where Tommy and Paul were waiting.

I was afraid to have a ride on this beast at first, but I trusted Eren though he tried to scare the hell out of me by burning up the road like grease lightning. Eren puts on his matte black integral helmet and springs one leg to the other side of his seat to sit on it. I admire him as he starts the mammoth machine, revving it a few times till it backfires a blue smoky light, causing a fractious pulsating sound. I must admit, Eren is a sexy badass on that monster.

“It is all right Alpha Wyatt. Ben is the one that needs to talk to you. He has said that it is important.” I quietly follow Wyatt as he heads into the living room. A smile instantly appears on my face when my eyes see Ben sitting on the couch in a bathrobe. I quickly wave and to him. “Hi, Ben. Congrats on finding your mate.” My eyes are drawn to Ben’s mark on his neck. It is so different than anything that I’ve ever seen before. Often times, the marks have two wolves, which his does, but in addition to the two wolves, it has a heart with two letters, F and B. It is so beautiful.

In the study, Julian was holding an old tome up high. "I found it! It's a book on the Lord of the Manor!" As everyone quickly gathered around him, Julian read aloud, "His name is Morpheus, and he loves to drink Stardust Wine under the full moon, which clears his mind and gives him a good night's sleep." "Anything else?" Cassian pressed urgently. "He likes to collect old star charts and harp music during rainy nights," Julian replied. "There's also records about his dislikes…"

This girl is full of mischief. Ben steps forward next. He looks like a small boy handing me his gift, with a no less excited smile on his face than his sister. Inside of the box, there’s a silver chain bracelet with three charms. One charm is a howling wolf, another is a moon, and the third one is a cupcake. I hold the tine cupcake and look up at him.

116 - Ben I know I am not the one with magic, and frankly, I’m over it. But, it would be nice to be useful – to have some kind of magical abilities right now. Jax, Dev and I have been pacing for a very long time. I can see Elara and Eliza. They are only a few yards away from us, but we are on one side of a wall with them on the other. We aren't able to get their attention and after way too much gesturing, the three of us walk the length of the wall together, only to be stopped by the edge of the Rift barrier. Ben’s voice flowed with excitement and longing, lifting Charity a few inches from the ground with a hug. “I did. Sorry I’m a little late,” she handed him a little box wrapped in a birthday cone designed wrapper. “Happy birthday.” “Thank you,” he kissed her cheek and all of us looked at each other, hiding our smile. Tina’s brows raised, and I mouthed ‘that’s her’ to her. Ben took Charity’s hand, guiding her inside the house where I suppose he’ll introduce her to his family. “Our little Ben is a big boy now,” Matt shook his head while grinning.
