It pained him greatly to know that any of his friends, especially the younger ones, was going through something he couldn’t fix; it was stupid but he considered them all of his younger brothers, and he would protect them with all his life even their newest addition, Finn Pattinson. Hunter had to tug on his wrist gently to uproot his feet from where they seemed to be stuck to the carpet and when he stumbled a little, caught him gently. A single tear ran down Chase’s face, the only tear he had shed throughout the entire ordeal. Hunter wiped it away gently with his thumb.

Flinching she straightened up straining to see in the dark. A thump sounded on the roof followed by the sound of claws scraping against metal. “You don’t happen to have weapons in the trunk do you?” Chase asked gritting his teeth. His hands clutched the steering wheel so hard Elaina was sure he was going to end up breaking it.

Patrick shouts angrily at us, and I practically see everyone roll their eyes, then he turns and leaves, once more, alone. Dahlia then taps me on the shoulder, holding a small piece of paper which reads "46A 73HR" If you can't tell, I'm confused. Dahlia smirks at me while shaking her head, "its the number plate of his car dumbass" I smirk at her, "Well thank you, Jas, get right on it and get Chase, he should be back from his trip from Jacksonville by now" over these past couple of days with the drama surrounding Armstrong, I haven't really checked in with Chase, but he went on a small business trip because one of our assailants needed him there.

He stops mid-sentence when his eyes fall on the puppy in front of me. He gazes at the pup softly and bends down beside me. "Poor little dog. What happened to it?" "He has a cramp I guess." I look back at him as he observes the puppy. "I think we should take him home." I gently pat the back of the pup to make him comfortable and pull him into my lap so as to know what exactly happened to him that's when I hear a loud noise pierce through the cold air. Fuck! I gasp and look around in horror. Before any rational thought could make its way into my mind, I see Christopher pushing me behind the shrubs.

I was halfway out of the corridor when I called Dalton through the comm link embedded in my watch. “Southern woods,” I said tersely. “Bring three of your fastest and meet me there in ten.” “On it.” My wolf surged beneath my skin, claws scraping just under the surface, demanding to be set loose. I let him edge closer than usual, knowing I’d need his instincts if we were going to track her. My daughter. My blood.

Lyle replies smoothly, his tone leaving no room for argument. I blink, momentarily stunned. What is he doing here? Lyle Grayson wouldn’t be caught dead in a place like this—too common for someone like him. There he is, standing in the middle of the café, exuding the same effortless confidence that used to captivate me. The client shifts uncomfortably, his tone suddenly polite. “Of course. Let’s continue.” I nod, unsure whether to feel grateful or mortified by Lyle’s intervention. Still, I return to the matter at hand, walking Mr. Dawson through the details of his case. This time, he listens, albeit grudgingly, and the meeting concludes without further incident.

"Yeah, Coach, no problem. As long as none of those hockey jerks show up, we'll play nice." A few of the guys chuckled, but I could tell we were all on the same page. Green Hill's hockey team wasn't welcome here, and thankfully, that wasn't going to be a problem. "Come on, brother," Grayson nudged me as I ran a finger through my hair. "We gotta go." I raised a brow, fixing my shirt. "Where?" He looked at me as if I was stupid. "We have class, Xander." Oh, right. We did.

Ethan snarls. “ The police are here. ” Josh informs him. “ Then get them the fuck off my estate. ”
