Humans don’t have wings! I looked up at his face again, and I gasped. The color of his eyes had changed completely. They weren't the same dull, coal-black eyes I had seen every time he stared at me in school or at the canteen. No… these eyes were bright, burning with a fierce, intense color—hazel brown, deep and rich, but filled with something terrifying. There was pure anger drawn within them, blazing like fire.

“Mine are boring brown.” “Are you kidding?” he asked. “I’ll have you know they’re quite captivating.” I laughed. “Okay.” His eyes narrowed. “You don’t believe me?” I shook my head. “Why do you look offended?” I asked between laughs. “They’re my eyes, not yours.” “Yeah, and I’m offended that you’re looking down on yourself. Mine are a cold grey, yours are a warm brown. Have you seen how they change colours depending on the light? Plus when I look at you, it’s like you’re looking straight into my soul.”

It was like a breathtaking symphony that showcased the intricate tapestry of his diverse heritage. But it was his eyes that struck me most profoundly. Soft as morning dew, they seemed to possess a mesmerising quality — a depth that urged exploration. “It’s healing fine.” He chuckles. "You're pretty gutsy for a young woman." I had vengeance to drive me. But I do not tell him that. I look at Dr Chase once more and notice for the first time the colour of his hair, it is brown, similar to mine and his eyes are deep blue, just like Kane’s. A little photo frame sits on his table and in it is an old man with a great big smile and a twinkle in his eyes. He looks like an older version of Dr Chase.

Christopher's voluminous blonde curls looped around his face, his brown eyes are welcoming but if you watched him closely you could sense behind this sweet mask his wearing is a ruthless being. His jaw is defined and has olive-toned skin. They are both beautiful but dangerous.

I swallowed hard and forced my eyes to open back. “What else do you prefer?” I looked into his eyes. I could see their details far more clearly now that we were closer. The outskirts of his irises were a deep brown like the scorched edges of burning parchment, then there was a golden yellow that bled into a hot auburn. He had eyes that homed the raging flames of the sun. And I felt like Icarus, filled with glee and giddy. The only difference... I was aware of the circumstances.
