nodding Jacob follows me as we walk towards the cafe. The little bell rang, as we both entered the little cafe, with a homey vibe. This cafe has been one of my favorite spots since I opened my shop, wheveri wanted a little time for myself, I will escape here. The cafe is not very big, but once you are inside, something you will feel, tug you into a comfortable embrace. It feels cozy here. Taking a seat, near the window, I order a hot chocolate for myself and Jacob helped himself with espresso.

"Hello! Welcome to Santa's Café!" a friendly waitress asked as they walked in. "Two for dinner?" Taren shook his head. "Just hot cocoa for me. We came in to warm up." A friendly smile spread across her lips. "Well, then. You came to the right place! Mrs. Claus just finished baking a fresh batch of her cookies, too, so you're in luck!" Taren could tell that the waitress took her job to heart. Her name tag read Angela.

The walls were painted in brown with a cream lining and a light brown border, reminding her of a chocolate cake and Frappuccino. There're only seven tables with four wooden chairs each. Every table has a white vase filled with flowers and a tissue holder. You can see the counter along with the glass shelf displaying different variation of sweets ten meters away from where they're seated.

I would rather drown myself in coffee there than drive and not know how to return. Only a few customers were there when I arrived at the café. The joyous Christmas theme, décor, and smiling staff no longer appealed to me. I advanced to the counter and ordered hot black coffee. When the barista approached me with my order, his eyes narrowed. “Hi!” He smiled apologetically. “Is everything alright…” He glanced at my cup and continued, “Eve?” “Umm…” My eyes blinked rapidly, and I paused for a second, trying to figure out what to say. “Yeah. Why?”

_Aria's POV_ I looked at the calendar on the wall. The date looked back at me and my stomach tightened. The dreaded day would come soon. It was the twenty-fourth of December today and the memory still sat fresh in my throat. I could taste it like old blood. I could see the lights and hear the sirens.
