She landed hard on a cold tile floor—black and crimson, shining like blood in firelight. A throne loomed ahead. And at its feet, watching her like a wolf waiting to pounce, was Cade. The Red King. Unfortunately, it looked like that was what was going to happen. “Buy me some time,” Chief Priest Kaka ordered the Blood King and pulled off one of his rings. The Blood King moved immediately to the call of its master, ignoring Destiny and dashing towards Red Rose. Destiny pursued it swiftly, and soon he and Red Rose were fighting together again, and the Blood King was being pushed back, its injuries accumulating faster than its body could heal.
