Then I saw Jean standing there and I immediately remembered his confession of having everything to do with the fire accident. "You!" I screamed. But to my greatest surprise, nothing happened. No sound escaped my lips. Panic seized me. What was happening? Why could I not speak? "Jean! You son of a bitch!" I screamed but it was the same. The sound only resided in my head. "Just shut up, Rainbow. You're no longer in control. I have seized it from you!" Circe's voice rang in my ears. My heart sank to the deepest part of my core. "No! No! You can't do this! Circe! Let me out!" I screamed but they remained cut out.

I am personally going to kick their armoured asses! I can’t quite make out what Circe is saying to them, but I have a strong suspicion Lemuel is on the other side of the door they’re guarding. Circe is about to walk in when she gets distracted by something and I see her pull out her phone and check it. She huffs, barks out orders and then returns back up the stairs. As soon as she’s out of sight, I free myself from the confines of the water and make myself corporeal and stare down the two pathetic excuses for men who stand a few feet away. “Lady Eisa,” Tobias gasps, “What are you doing down here? You shouldn’t be down here,” he says feebly.

Soft white pain covered the walls, abstract arts were hung on different parts of the house and there was classical music playing from a speaker in the background. The vibration in my ears had reduced to a slow vibrant and melodious hum. It was pleasant to listen to and I was thinking about just getting lost in the sound. “Do get used to the hums, Sage, it is dangerous.” Circe warned sternly as she showed me around. “But it is so pleasant to the ears,” I said in awe. “That’s how you go insane,” Circe replied. “First it will be whispers, then it would be screams and then you will never know a moment of peace.”
