Your sister.” I reeled. “No. My mother never mentioned—” “She couldn’t,” Ember cut in. “Because they erased me. Hid me. To protect you.”

A few moments later the purple and green swirling disc appears, and she breathes a sigh of relief. “Thanks Emma.” She turns to the men, “Portals can make you nauseous the first few times, so just aim away from me, or anyone else and you’ll be fine.” She steps into the disc, and in the blink of an eye she appears into the cold salty sea air of the Liverpool docks at night in November. Her team are set up in front of her and she walks towards them. Ash and Kai appear behind her and she hears them muttering. Eddie looks up at her, “Hey, Boss.”

Eira’s POV "Hey! Good afternoon, Eira!" Ember’s voice always carried that lively energy, regardless of what time of day it was. I closed my book and looked up. “Good afternoon, Ember. What brings you here? Need help with something?" She scratched the back of her neck, offering me a nervous smile. “Actually… yeah, sort of.” Before I could ask more, she reached for my arm. There’s this small pastry café near the square—I’ve been dying to try their honey tarts. Are you hungry? Because I definitely am.”

He laid his glasses down on the desk in front of him and rubbed his tired eyes. The crackling of flames could be heard as the city burned all around them. The blood curdling screams of the men in the streets where they died was enough to make the blood of the fiercest warrior run cold, but he was a man of empathy and it hurt him more than it did the others.

Saavi had put her full body weight on Dhruv who held her like he was protecting her. "Dhruv," Saavi called him running her index finger on his bicep. "Yes, love." "Why do you call me Ember To My Flame?" she asked remembering when she was about to commit suicide Dhruv stopped her and confessed Saavi was The Ember to his Flame. "Interesting Question, love." Dhruv smiled before asking, "Do you know what Ember is?" Saavi raised her head from his chest and nodded vigorously. She answered her husband as she said, "Yes, a piece of wood or coal that is not burning, but is still red and hot after a fire has died."

Dad asks her what she is talking about. “So while I was traveling I found this amazing island in the Medditerrian. To anyone else, it looks like a normal island that doesn't hold much of anything. A few abandoned ancient buildings. Of course, being me, the magic that was being used to conceal the city there didn’t work.” Emerald explains. “So they know what you are?” Marcel asks. This makes Nate and I very nervous. Ever since we discovered our little mate, we have become very overprotective of her for a damn good reason.

“I’d forgotten what real roads looked like during a storm.” “The city can get pretty bogged down,” Edwin reminded him. “Yea, but for how long? The plows are out at the first sign of a snowflake in the city. There’s not a plow in sight here. No cars either, for that matter. Looks like we’re the only idiots out in this shit. It’s a wonder you can find the road, Tim.”

No doubt, he cares and loves her to the moon and to saturn. Even sweating, there is no strong force that could stop Emily from bopping to the music. This is her life. She is a certified club party girl in Manila. She is as excited as the newly-hatched baby birds as their parents feed them when she knew that there is a newly-opened club in this town. It is near the shore, that is why most of the people inside are tourists. Most of them are foreign blooded people. They must be loving the tourist destinations and the company of the people for them to keep visiting the country. "Oh, sorry," Emily uttered when she bump into someone's back while jumping and swaying her body.

He waved her off. Still the woman lingered. She stood her ground, proud in her stance. “I’m sure your pathetic ranks couldn’t stand against my clan. None of you could.” Donte was in her face. He could feel the heat of her trembling breaths. “Chimeras that flaunt their abilities are no more abominations than the ones that shun immortals with greater power.” The ruby red of his eyes flickered with such darkness. “We prefer to avoid war. We welcome outcasts with open arms, and give sanctuary to the injured. You are neither, nor are you fit enough to be our mate. Leave." His nostrils flared as he menaced over her.
