My brain short-circuited, but instinct hit before thought did. I slammed the gas. "Grab her." "The serpents killed our brothers. Your life pays for theirs." Several of them lunged at once. The car rocked violently. A fist smashed through the side window, shattering it instantly. A clawed hand reached in, swiping at my throat.

His glowing blue eyes connected to hers, and he growled. "Vicious bastard," she hissed. He growled again but it held a playful tone much like when Hannibal Lecter cooed Clarice's name. This sadistic, freeze the blood of your enemies, game didn't scare Cassie. Sure, his next move in the waking world could be disastrous, but it was her turn to play. With her eyes still locked on his, she focused, demanding her precognition provide some insight into his sinister plan, and just like that, the forest faded away.

Rowena's eyes bulged at the sight of the snake necklace on Chloe's neck. She stared in disbelief at Chloe's stunning face as the branding iron dropped from her grasp. "Are you Chloe, the serpent clan's princess? What are you saying? Weren't you supposed to marry Hank? He's already bound to me, so what are you doing here?!" Watching Chloe extend her hand to me, Rowena felt a surge of dread. Chloe smiled, and she raised her eyebrows playfully as our fingers interlaced.

I nodded. "Your wish is my command, my Queen. I'll take my blindfold now," I warned everybody else, and touched the knot Sohan made before then began to unmake it. Folding it and putting it on my lap, I blinked, getting used to the light again. I heard lots of gasps, probably because most people here have never seen my eyes, they must be mesmerized.

Nevertheless, not only did Caspian not dodge Sean's attack, he hugged his elbows and looked in Sean's direction, showing a contemptuous smile. Such an expression only further angered Sean, but he abruptly realized something and turned his head to look at one side. Sean saw a huge black silhouette that appeared just like mountains, moving toward him. The surrounding air blew clean wherever the serpent went, and the ground rumbled, undulated, cracked and shattered. In the Serpent of Hell's eyes, there was a look of anger and bloodthirstiness. Then, it opened its ferocious mouth, showing countless sharp teeth that appeared just like daggers, enough to scare someone to death.

‘What’s up with its eyes? ‘Rivers is a blind cat, pretty much like me when I am without my glasses’, I said and regretted immediately. ‘Oh, sorry?’, Beck’s smooth baritone voice said and I laughed. He whimpered when Rivers sniffed his injury. ‘Shit, sorry’, I said and he nodded. ‘Why were they chasing after you?’, I asked. ‘Why don’t you just look and find out?’ ‘I try not to pry’, I replied. ‘I missed a shot that’s it’, he said standing to his feet and moving to the window with Rivers in his hands.

She wouldn’t even entertain the chance to think about being near them. She quickly checked the messages on the phone, said goodbye to Mathew and Mike, again and turned it off. She pulled a book out of her purse and she didn't even notice when they took off. "What are you reading, if I may ask, ma’am?" Her companion's voice snapped her out from her ‘literature land’. She looked at him from behind the glasses. “A novel.” She replied but realized that she was being rude. "A book written by a well-known American adventure writer, Clive Cussler." She said in a slightly more pleasant tone.

At that moment, Meran's voice could be heard reciting various pressure points. Chad felt a tingling sensation as he vividly imagined the locations of those points in his mind. Then, Seis said, "The Clairvoyant Eye is the eye of the golden crow, overlooking the world from above. It requires the blood of elders as a catalyst to open!" As Seis spoke, Chad felt his brow pressed twice quickly, followed by a burning sensation. Chad suddenly noticed the scene in the room. He saw Seis and Meran standing directly in front of him.
