"You seek to break the illusion, mortal?" I nodded, my sword at the ready. The demon smiled, a wicked grin. "Then you must answer my riddle. If you answer correctly, I will show you the way out. But if you fail, you will be trapped here forever." I took a deep breath and braced myself. I knew that my life depended on the answer to the demon's riddle. The demon spoke again, its voice echoing through the chamber. "I am taken from a mine and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, and yet I am used by almost every person. What am I?"

A riddle appeared on a stone plaque by the pool: "By day it sleeps, by night it soars, Silent as the moon, it holds the core. Speak its name to calm the tide, And through the maze, you may glide." Nikolai and I pondered the riddle, our eyes scanning the area for any hints. After a few moments, a soft voice echoed through the trees. “The answer is the owl,” it said. “Speak the name, and the way will be shown.” Following the guidance, I called out, “Owl!” At that instant, the water in the pool began to bubble, and a hidden pathway emerged, leading us further into the garden.

He grinned back at her. I guess you don’t really look like a genie.” He was a tall white guy, with tanned skin, rumpled dark brown hair, and about a day’s worth of scruff where a beard would be. She had a sudden urge to rub her hand on his cheek to see how prickly it was. How exactly had she missed seeing this man get on the elevator with her? “Thank you, I think. But isn’t that what a genie would say?” he asked. “You’re not claustrophobic, are you?”

Daring to speak to me as if she were equal, and yet, I felt no irritation. Only… intrigue. “Perhaps,” I said slowly, “Do you like riddles too?” “Oh yes!” Her face lit up immediately with my question. “Can you give me one?” I thought for a moment, deciding if I should indulge her in the conversation or not. “Alright,” I said, my voice dropping into a teasing growl. “I speak without a mouth and hear without ears, I have nobody, but I come alive with wind. What am I?”

I asked confused, staring at the coins in my hand. She turned me around so I was standing with my back to the fountain. "Toss one coin over your left shoulder with your right hand." She instructed. "It will ensure you to return to Rome in the future." I chuckled, but still did what she asked me to do. I wouldn't mind returning to Rome in the future. After I tossed the coin she turned me back around. "Now, toss two subsequent coins in the fountain." After I did that I turned my head towards her and asked, "And what would that mean?"

The arrow pointed down to me and a timer appeared beside my profile. “Everyone hates me because I’m the most impartial thing in existence, I visit anyone regardless of their status and when I do, I’m the last thing you’ll ever see. What am I?” That was the riddle. I gazed at the empty chat box which had a cursor that was blinking at me, waiting for me to type something there but what do I type? I don't even understand the question how much knowing the answer. I look at the timer and it’s 4.

Both of them beam smiles at me, and I wonder what in the fuck I did in another life to get this kind of chance. If you get any of them wrong you take an article of clothing off.” I say and she laughs. I raise my brows challenging her. “So I was right. You do want us to end up naked.” She says and I shrug. “Do you blame me?” I ask and she licks her lips looking me up and down.
