SCARLETT'S POV. I was completely right. The party was boring as hell, and from the looks of things we weren't even near done here. And then even worse, the annoying as fuck MC who thoughts his jokes were so funny but they were obviously not, had been wasting so much time on the third segment of the programme which was jokes and riddles, that I almost threw my shoe at him. If I heard one more uncle joke coming from his mouth, I could just do it right there, damning all the consequences.

Oh, this is gonna be fun. “Oh, friends!” I gasped dramatically, placing a hand over my chest. “ Hi friends, how is it going? I was just running a dick’ suckin’ sesh for half price this week, tell your friends for me will ya’?” - eat this you morons. And I kept walking while they picked up ther jaws from the floor. I strutted past them like I had just won the lottery. Jasmine appeared beside me, cackling. “Girl, you are hilarious!”

June, meanwhile, provided nonstop commentary. “Oh, hello, number twelve,” she whispered loudly, fanning herself as a tall blond skated past. “If you’re single, blink twice.” I rolled my eyes. “You realize he can’t hear you from here, right?” “Details, girl. Details.” She crunched another handful of popcorn. A second later, she gasped dramatically. “And number seventeen…damn, look at those legs. He must do squats for breakfast.” I nearly choked on my soda laughing. “You’re unhinged.”

Which was funny in itself. “I need some food,” I told Gracie, who was heading to the dodgems. “Catch you later,” she said as we parted ways. As I sat and ate my double cheeseburger and fries, I couldn’t help but overhear an argument from a nearby trailer. Someone has been sleeping with someone’s wife. I watch as a scuffle unfolds. “Who needs TV when you have entertainment like this?” a human boy says as he sits next to me. We watch in silence as a scuffle takes place in the tiny trailer and a man is thrown through the door. He is then fired. I snorted with laughter. It must have been the fair owner’s wife he was sleeping with.

The comment sent us into fits of laughter, the absurdity of the comparison too delightful to resist. Peter, in mock indignation, seized Neil and began tickling him mercilessly. Neil's laughter quickly became uncontrollable, and he begged for mercy as we watched with amused smiles. The laughter and playful banter provided a welcome escape from our real-world troubles, allowing us to savor a rare moment of lightheartedness and joy.

Mom is biting her lip to keep from laughing. “Yeah, you’ll get better with time,” Bridget retorts, making everyone say ‘OHHHHH’ out loud. “I’m sorry, but who was screaming so loud in pleasure it alerted everyone?” Wesley asks. “There is no shame in my game.” “Can you two stop with the flirting for ten fucking minutes? We are about to be attacked,” Evander yells. “Sorry, Snookums,” Wesley jokes. Now everyone is laughing. Even Dad and Evander.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have listened to Skye’s advice. You know, now that I’m saying it out loud, I’m realizing I really probably shouldn’t have listened to Skye’s advice.” “Did he give you a script?” Addison asks, still laughing. “He told me that he would do the dishes for a whole week if I promised to use the lines he gave me,” Javan groans. “I think he just likes feeling important.” “I don’t think you need his lines,” Addison says with a shrug. “You performed perfectly well at the bar with no coaching at all.”

" I looked at her, at that smug, self-satisfied expression, and the corners of my lips curled into a meaningful smile. "You're right, Vanessa. Navigating relationships is important. I hope your people skills will be enough to answer Gilla Group's questions regarding the core data." Her expression flickered for a split second, but she quickly regained her arrogance. "That's not something an errand runner like you needs to worry about. I've got the proposal right here, so why wouldn't I be able to answer the questions? You just stay here and keep fetching water for me."

“One date. Just one. No more matchmaking. No more Bob updates. No more random photos of his rice warehouse.” She squealed and grabbed her phone like a giddy teenager. “Oh, I’m calling Bob’s mom right now. She’s going to be so excited!” Behind her, Skylar and Katie were already miming wedding veils.. Katie even made a heart shape with her hands and mouthed, Mrs. Bob. I glared at them so hard my eyes almost fell out of my head. “I hope your pillows are warm on both sides forever,” I whispered threateningly. Mom was still humming happily as she typed away on her phone, probably texting Bob’s mom and half of the women’s group chat at church.

I asked, recalling how I ended up getting laid all because of their silly idea. “Baby girl, you need to know when to shoot your shot…these men who come here…are filthy rich,” CJ said and poured himself a drink, what he said made no sense to me. I wasn't the type of girl who trapped men for money. “What makes you think,” “This is a free world…just make a pick and have fun,” CJ added with a sly smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. I was about to reply when Skylar joined us, she looked tired from a distance.
