Peeking, before he slips inside the store. Inside, there's a barricade of shopping carts. Tuck made his way around them, eyeing the checkout lanes that are empty. Old registers emptied, computers torn and loose wires bleeding out of them. The rest of the store had similar damage. Some shelves were plucked clean, while others remained. Tuck shone his flashlight, looking for useful items. Or fun ones… "Oh, this is gold…" Tuck smiles, feeling accomplished as he found an intact skateboard. He skated circles inside the store. Time flies as he finds more fun things.

“I had to change my look. The new job dictated so. What have you been up to?” “Dre disappeared, I don’t know where to and his number is out of service. I’m back to waiting tables at Lex.” “There is something I have to tell you.” “What? Are you okay?” “Yeah but a lot has happened. Remember the guy at Trust?” “Yap. We followed Amber into the shop, and I was immediately hit with that distinctive smell of new merchandise and plastic packaging. The place was impressive, well-organized sections for different genres, a wall of collectible figures, racks of manga in both English and Japanese, even a small café area in the back. Amber made a beeline for the shonen manga section, and Cynthia drifted after him. I was examining a display of vintage posters when I heard a familiar voice. "No way. Is that an original cel from the '98 series?" I turned slowly and found myself face to face with Bryan and Devian.

Two things, actually. One: A wooden crate full of smashed vintage soda bottles, circa 1960s. Shards of Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi bottles and the emerald green bits of a few 7UP bottles. Two: The wreckage of a homemade, cheap plywood comic book rack, littered with torn and crumpled comic books, all the classics: Batman, The Astounding X-men, Superman and ROM: Space Knight, shredded into ruin. I stared, my face rigid, when a brisk, non-confrontational but stiff voice asked, “Can I help you?”

With that done, I headed off to book a seat at TGI Fridays for later in the evening. With that done, I headed to the comic shop and got myself a few comics to read and a cute little keyring. I wasn’t a huge comic book fan, but I enjoyed a few mangas here and there depending on the plotline they had. Berserk was probably one of my favourites, but the volumes were always bulky so I usually ordered them instead.
