MADDIE POV I want to shake my head at her pop-culture reference. She loves to read comic books to the pack orphans, especially those who are struggling with their reading comprehension. It is where Dan gets his love of comic books, he was once a pack orphan. Because of that activity, she has a deep knowledge of all the comic book superheroes and villains. Not to mention a comic book collection that rivels even the most obsessive of professional collectors. She even has multiple rare comics signed by Stan Lee himself, the legendary comic book genius. When he nodded, Kendall said, “I’m thinking you two need to provide breakfast for us one of these days.” At his confused look, Brooklyn said, “I work at the coffee shop. That’s how I first met Kendall.” “And what is it you do, Kendall?” Addy asked. “I work at Enchanted Realms,” she said. “Is that the shop that sells those beautiful crystals?” Addy asked. Nodding, Kendall said, “We sell crystals, incense, books, statues, all sorts of things, really.” “That’s a really cool store,” Brooklyn said. “I did an article on them when they first opened last year.”

We all turned to him collectively before he cleared his throat and continued, “I was an attentive collector of the properties of superhero stories.” “...So you collected comic books?” Urkstin asked, making Liam turn his head away from us before nodding nervously. “Oh, that’s cool!” Akira complimented, making Liam turn back in surprise, “How much do you have?” “I…” He said, before returning to his uptight and overly explanatory tone, “I have collected all series in the marvel comic universe ever from 1939 to the present day.”

“Limited edition painting. If you wanna buy it, you gotta place a bid. Or, get them for free if you sign up for the club.” He shrugged, feeling victorious. The people were silent, unsure of what to say. Malorie stepped forward, still gaping at the painting. “You…” she began. “It’s marvelous, isn’t it?” Cain boasted. “It’s...marvelously bad!” Malorie exclaimed. “What the hell is this?” She pointed at the painting consisting of stick figures in different colors. The shapes were off, looking like an artwork by a kindergarten student. “This is comic art!” Cain claimed. “This looks as if a child drew it!” she hissed. “This isn’t how you make a comic strip!”

She stood up, noticing the comics on his bookshelf, and walked over to his bookshelf, saying, "Wow, I didn't know the boring Beau Bax was into comics." She looked through the comics, while he said, "Of course. Comics are amazing." She pulled out one of the comics, looked at Beau, and said, "You read Space Buds?" He laughed, saying, "Yes, it's my favorite comic. I used to love it as a child. It was my greatest pass time. Whenever I felt lonely I could always get lost in a Space Buds adventure.
