“They are… unconventional. But they are the most important part of this interview.” He paused, his dark eyes locking onto mine, holding me captive. “Let’s begin with Rule Number One: The CEO’s questions are not optional.” He let that sink in for a moment before he asked his first question. “Are you wearing panties right now?” The world seemed to tilt on its axis. The air left my lungs in a silent rush. I stared at him, my mind scrambling, searching for a response. The question was so outrageously, stunningly inappropriate that I was sure I had misheard.

I was ready to go but I had some questions I had to ask first. “Hey, just one more thing,” I said stopping them from getting up, “what are your names? Mine is Sophie.” I was still a little freaked out by the whole supernatural creatures coming to my aid for reasons completely unknown to me. I didn’t know why these creatures wanted to help me or how their efforts benefitted them. But they were here, offering me their help. If it could assist me in my quest to find David, I’m willing to take any help I could get.
