I breathed. "A sign of hope," Sebastian murmured, stepping closer to examine the rare bloom. "Moon Roses only appear at moments of cosmic significance. They haven't been seen since the fall of the Royal kingdoms." The silvery-blue flower continued to grow before our eyes, unfurling delicate petals that seemed to capture and reflect the light in an almost impossible way. As it reached full bloom, a subtle fragrance filled the room, clean and pure, like the first breath of air after a cleansing rain.

Osiris taps his keys loudly on the bar, trying to grab her attention, but she keeps serving other patrons. Finally, Petra holds up her hands and freezes the world around us. Everyone stops moving except the four of us and Celeste. It is a strange magic I have never seen before. She gives me a little wink just before Celeste turns to us. Felicia leans in closer, her eyes widening with anticipation. "But what, Rose? Tell me everything you remember." Rose meets Felicia's gaze, her eyes shimmering with a mix of fascination and uncertainty as she continues her account. At that Claudia looked at him and took the rose from his hand but said as she pricked her finger with a thorn, “Yes, a rose is beautiful, but it is dangerous due to its thorns. The sprawling drive was lined with meticulously trimmed hedges, and the iron gates swung open in silent, practiced precision. Inside, the air smelled of freshly cut white roses, arranged elegantly in crystal vases that gleamed under the golden chandelier. Marble floors, polished to mirror perfection, reflected the grandeur of the cavernous ceilings above. Cordelia was waiting in the sitting room, perfectly posed on a velvet chaise, a cup of tea cradled delicately in her hand. Was she merely an assistant, servant, or something else entirely? “Good evening,” Cordelia said, her voice smooth and cool. “You’re awake.”

Elisa shrugged as she dragged the bag and set it down next to the wardrobe. “Were you the person who gave me this rose?” Rain nodded her head at the delicate rose that was kept inside of a glass vase with water. The single rose was the only thing in it. Elisa shifted her attention to the flower, started at it for a few seconds before nodding her head in affirmation. She didn’t say a word after that, she just led Rain to the vanity table that was set up for her in the room because she knew that it wasn’t there before.
