Moonlight streamed through the windows, adding a touch of sanctity to the illuminated temple. Tap, tap. The rhythmic footsteps of Crown Prince Kral resonated throughout the hall. His black hair was neatly groomed, accentuating his handsome features. His golden eyes were even more captivating under the glow of the candles. His tall figure exuded an imposing presence, emphasized by the crimson ceremonial robe. Today, Crown Prince Kral resembled a proud male lion, its mane flowing gracefully. Now, this arrogant lion descended from his lofty throne, crossed the long steps, and approached the delicate flower with the patience of a hunter. He slowly drew closer to Delia's carriage.

“Two days ago, Alexander personally took her to a private jeweler. Measurements, design consultations—he stayed the entire time.” My heart clenched. “There’s more,” Ethan continued. “And it gets worse.” “I accessed her private cloud. Password was Alexander’s birthday.” Inside were photos. Hundreds of them. I opened the file he sent. The album was titled: My Knight. The most recent post was dated two days ago. He said this crown belongs only to me. Just like him. Next week’s family dinner—he promised to give me a name. The council chamber smelled of incense and fear. Nobles lined the benches, jewels glittering against nervous hands. Whispers flooded the air, thick and poisonous. The Alph King wasn't present but his right handman who can also make decisions in his place was there. Xander wasn't present either, probably babysitting his slave mate. I stood tall in the center, my gown chosen deliberately...deep crimson, cut sharp, the color of blood spilled. I had not come to plead. I had come to strike. “My lords,” I began, my voice ringing clear. “You have heard the rumors, but let us strip away rumor and face truth. The crown prince has bound himself to a slave.”

The grand duke, his eyes ablaze with fervor, addressed the butler with an air of authority, "How goes the party, caleb?" The butler, his features marked with a grave solemnity, reported, "Prince Addison has made an announcement. He intends to crown Chiara Windsor, the daughter of Dominic Windsor, as the empress." Upon hearing this, Lucas arched an eyebrow as he sipped his tea, his mind racing with thoughts of Elen Windsor and her rumored powers, her unwavering loyalty to her family, and her purported status as a fairy. He does not seem pleased because he reaches for me but I’m out of reach. From a bit of a distance I notice more about him. But more importantly the crown that sits atop that dusty brown hair. This is the Prince. I can feel realisation hit as my breathing speeds up and I drop into a deep bow. “Your Majesty.” My voice barley audible. I’ve heard stories of The Prince, we all have. Stories of his ruthlessness, violence, cruelty. Stories of his love of females as nightly companions. Bad, horrible stories.

Curiosity led to a shelf and she grabbed the first book that made its way into her hand. “The Five Sages,” She read the title. She opened the first page. “Hi,” Roxie let out a little scream and she dropped the book in shock but a hand grabbed it and she met the striking brown eyes of a boy with two huge glasses at the bridge of his nose. “Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you,” the boy immediately apologized. “I'm Cein, Rune's younger brother, I help keep the library clean,” Roxie smiled at the cute way he adjusted his glass and bit his lip nervously while staring shyly at the floor as if he was before his crush. “I'm Roxie,”

My heart races, and I dart my eyes back to Shane and his comforting look. As the darkness tries to edge in around me, my breath becomes shallow and weak again, while a doctor announces, “No more talk about the crown or who is the going to be crowned. It is causing the Princess issues. I’m sorry your Majesty, but the safety of the Princess is more important than talking about royal business.”

Shawn sighed then smiled, he turned to look at the king and said, “Well now, I wouldn’t say that especially when you rely on the second prince for so much.” “And he is entrusting you with all of this? Why?” The king asked. “I honestly do not know. Here we are and please be prepared for what you are about to see,” Shawn warned him. He opened the door as he looked at the king and said, “I will be out here.” The king walked through the door and by the window drinking tea, he saw a young man with ginger locks just like his own and all his other children. His heart started racing as he recalled knowing that perfect posture and said, “Christian?”

Peaceful. Completely insane. And somehow… My twin ruled all of it with his weird husband though. Honestly every time I remembered Jayden was technically an actual king now, my brain malfunctioned a little. Like excuse me? We literally grew up threatening people together in New York and now this idiot sat on a supernatural throne somewhere hidden from the human world. Life was weird. “With the new treatment they’ll be okay,” Jayden answered softly behind me before pulling me gently against his chest. I relaxed into him instantly.

"Why?" He tilted his head, a motion smooth and wolfish, as though the beast within him had never truly left. His damp hair fell across his brow, shadowing one crimson eye, but even concealed, his beauty was a thing to unmake the world. "Because I am a curse," he said softly through lips that looked carved for both cruelty and tenderness. He seemed too much: too regal, too dangerous, too unearthly for this small, lamplit room. "And those who hunt curses care little for what else burns in their wake."
