Alaric was busy studying some reports when he sensed someone standing at the door. His face contorted with irritation on seeing Ruby. “What do you want?” He asked in a slightly irritated voice. “Nothing, I just came to congratulate you…” Ruby said walking and sitting opposite him. Alaric’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He tried to recall if there was anything that she should be congratulating him for. When Alaric didn’t reply, Ruby continued, “You found a way to counter that Witch’s curse, right…”

Too— Weak. Alpha Derek of Edgeland leans forward, voice cutting. “Maybe if you focused more on finding the source of the curse rather than believing in some prophecy, you’d be able to heal your bloodlines.” The air turns volatile instantly. Gavin’s chair scrapes. “She will come,” he insists, voice shaking with restrained fury. “I don’t think you realize how much I’ve done to try to figure out what the problem is.” Alpha energy begins to press outward, thick and dangerous.

“What are you implying?” She gestured toward the courtyard below. A young wolf, scarcely sixteen, knelt on the ground, shivering. His hands were marred with black veins creeping up his arms. Others stood back, hesitant to draw near. “I’ve been observing,” Mira murmured. “Some of them arrived not just with injuries, but with fragments of the curse.” Jorah hurried down the stairs two at a time, landing heavily beside the boy. The young wolf looked up, his eyes clouded with a dark fog.

The boy had no idea where the wetness came from because nowhere up around where he stood was wet. The boy felt a sudden sadness for the poor animal, so he held out his right hand, palm down, and suddenly, his arm glowed with a strange purple color. The purple color that had started to glow around his arm seemed to wiggle around it as if it were alive in its own way. Slowly, the wolf began to rise and out of the pit, with the boy switching his hand’s position as the wolf floated out of the pit. The boy laid him softly on the ground just a few feet away from the opening with a wave of his hand.

She carefully unrolled the scroll, her eyes scanning the arcane symbols and encrypted messages. But as she translated the ancient text, a sense of foreboding settled over her. The scroll revealed a startling twist—a fragment of the dark curse responsible for the Magus's transformation was entwined with the Veritas Reliquary. To break the curse, they would not only have to find the Reliquary but also discover how to separate the dark fragment from its protective magic.

Then the topic of the curse came up again. "Azalea said the curse wasn't made by a vampire, and I've been thinking about that a lot." "Is that so? Hmm...." I frowned. "What is it?" "Actually, my team has also found some things in the cave. The Quartz is identifying them," Xavier explained. "With this additional clue, the scope of the investigation subject can be narrowed down." I stilled, thinking for a while. "The culprit can't be a werewolf, right? Our people can't use magic."
