​JADE ​I didn't wake up until late morning. My body felt heavy, and my legs were incredibly sore. Every time I moved, the ache in my hips reminded me exactly of what had happened on that mattress. My skin felt sensitive, and even the silk sheets felt a bit scratchy against me.

The weight was real, and it made every step feel like a chore.

Looking down, I murmured, “Relax, your uncle’s getting it already.” Yawning, I stretch my arms up to get some of my blood pumping. Already, I felt myself wince when I stretched the wrong way. There was a soreness coming from my back and I could tell it was because of the sudden change of my center of gravity. I wasn’t used to always just lying around as well as carrying something in my belly for so long. “Viy-viy,” Gray peeks his head through the door, “There’s no more Todas.”

Kade POV The pounding in my skull is relentless, a deep, stabbing ache that makes it hard to focus. My body feels too heavy, my limbs sluggish, weighed down by something I can’t place. The air around me is cold, pressing against my bare skin in a way that feels wrong, and when I try to shift, to lower my arms so that I can push myself up, something jerks me back, stopping me mid-motion.

Where are you going?!" screamed Denaya, who at that time was still feeling weak due to nausea and vomiting that he usually experienced at nightfall. The conversation continued while I remained in my blissful bubble. “Hi, Dami!” Cara erupted, making me open my eyes.

ARIA The heels of my feet ached badly as I placed one foot in front of another. Our steps were slower and weak. My entire being was weak and tired to the bones and the weather wasn't helping it at all. My hair sticked to my nape and the beads of sweat rolled down my body parts, making me uncomfortable. My left shoulder has been shouting in protest, the heavy load of snacks, water and other refreshments in a duffel bag. I couldn't complain, not when Morris had two bags on her shoulder, one for clothes and the other one, thick bed spread, light covers and other emergency products.
