Prologue Daniel's POV I went on with my life, not expecting even a tiny bit of happiness to find me, I was just living under the dark side of life. Killing, hunting monsters. No happiness, not even love. Nothing could reach my frozen soul. That is, if I had a soul.

Zander offers. Kade gives a slight chuckle and says “Yeah I don’t think that will help much.” “Of course it will. She probably just doesn’t know you.” “She definitely doesn’t know me, but that just might make it worse. She’s a hunter.” Zander just looks back at Kade like he’s broken. “It’s Dean’s sister, Cataleya, isn’t it?” I ask. Kade’s eyes get wide for a second. “Yeah. I hate drama but it seems like that might be the only thing that comes out of this. How did you know?”

An arrow came flying out of nowhere, nearly missing me, and I jumped on the hunter that shot it but the moment my fangs sunk into the hunter's shoulder, a jolt of electricity coursed through my entire body, going straight to my core. "Mate!" Zarek voiced out, immediately retracting his fangs and taking a step back while I stared at my so-called mate, who was covered from head to toe, with only her eyes peaking out. I couldn't smell her scent, but judging by the shape and color of her eyes and the rage and anger swimming in them, I could tell it was a woman, who was none other than Adelaide Foster, my failed mission, the girl I had planned on killing tonight.

Hunter has transitioned into a wicked wolf but is still laying down on the ground. "Shit. Hurry." Axel says and rushes to the cage and opens the door. Dr. Spine enters the cage and quickly puts the collar around Hunter's neck. Hunter lets out another growl. The collar just barely fits around his neck. "Shit, shit, shit, shit." Dr. says while trying to chain the collar to the chains on the wall in the cage. *Click* the chain clicks into the ring on the collar. In the meantime, Hunter has stood up and is now face to face with Dr. Spine. Dr. spine is stuck in the corner and my heart is pounding in my chest. Hunter walks closer to him while showing his teeth and snapping at him.

"Yes please" Of the three hunters that made the final tryouts Danté and Vincent where like brothers, the third was a huntress named Xena and she herself was gone with the wind to Danté, he hasn't seen her in years. Hunter growled out, putting much emphasis on each word especially the last. Zane raised his eyebrow and took a step forward but a huge bundle of glowing yellow light blasted from Hunter’s right hand, almost hitting Zane right in the face had he not cast a protective barrier around him. “Interesting, indeed,” he smiles. “Sorry but you’re not the first man to confess to me. You should know I only like girls,” Hunter smirked and I knew he was teasing him. I rolled my eyes. Is he seriously making a joke at a time like this? I sighed and shook my head before looking back at Zane who is now staring directly at me.

The very thought of sinking my teeth into another female on their marking spots makes me sick. An image of Jonda lying on the battlefield in Mike's arms fills my thoughts. I can still smell her, still taste her. I can still hear her words. I swallow hard and make for the bathroom door with full intention of returning to my room. “Don’t you dare walk away from me Hunter!” Leneve yells, the harsh tone in her voice halting my steps. “No, you don’t get to do that to me. Ziko’s body slumped forward, lifeless, crimson blooming across his chest like a cursed rose. Hunter stood still as his men: trained, merciless, silent, stepped in and cleaned up the mess. Not a single command was needed. They knew the drill. Blood was part of the foundation down here. Hunter lit a cigarette, the smoke curling from his lips like a hissed warning to anyone daring enough to cross him next. The bitter flavor of rage hadn’t dulled at all. If anything, it grew sharper with every passing second.
