"You guys suck! I'm so fucking both of you in the ass tonight, you two Xavier! My cock is so going in your ass!" Damien said angrily which caused Xavier to throw his head back laughing louder.

Damien. I sit and pick at my food, watching the city below. Humans drive home from work, crowd into buses, laugh on sidewalks. They have problems—bills, bosses, relationships—but none of them know what it feels like to have your soul ripped in half in front of a room full of people. Lucky. The study door opens. Damien steps out, jacket off now, white shirt rolled up at the sleeves. There’s ink on one of his forearms—a dark, intricate design that disappears under the cuff.

I kept my hands folded in my lap as we drove, wondering what I had gotten myself into by agreeing to this. Inside the car, it was quiet for a long time. I finally broke the silence. “Tell me about your family.” Damien’s expression changed right away. “There’s not much to tell.” “I doubt that,” I said. After a pause, he started talking. “My father remarried after my mother died. Victoria is my stepmother. She likes control.” I smiled a little. “That’s your warning?” “No.” He glanced at me briefly. “This is. Answer only what you’re asked. Don’t volunteer information.”

His red eyes glittered eerily as his eyes never left the baby in Talia's arms. "That's none of your business", Cassie said. "Why don't you just leave us alone?". "I have no issue with you bitch",Damian said. "I'm just after Xavier. I told you I don't forget so easily. I always get my revenge". "Revenge for what?",Tabitha snapped. "Raping a defenceless woman? You should be ashamed of your bloody self".

“He won’t win.” “But he’ll try.” I folded my arms. “And we both know Martin doesn’t bluff.” Silence stretched between us for a moment. Then I added, “What happened between you two? The Black Highlands?” “He ambushed me,” Damien said, voice like gravel. “I killed his Beta and nearly ripped him apart. He escaped with half his ribs broken. But he never forgave that.” I exhaled slowly. “So now he wants revenge. And leverage. And—”

I finally managed to ask, pressing a hand to my heart to steady myself. Damien’s gaze softened, and he smiled faintly. “I like you, Xiana,” he said simply. “More than you probably realize. I don’t want to lose you. That’s my greatest fear. I just thought you should know—just in case you ever need to save me.” Without giving me a chance to respond, he stood up abruptly. “Good night, Xiana. You need to rest,” he said, his voice more composed now. But as he turned away, I noticed the tips of his ears glowing red.

Damien cleared his throat, scanning the room with a grin that was equal parts charming and terrifying. “Good evening, everyone. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Damien. The younger, better-looking, significantly more fun Grayson brother.” More laughter. I rolled my eyes, but I didn’t stop him. “I’ve known Alexander my whole life,” Damien continued, pacing the stage. “And for most of that life, I assumed he was a robot built by our father to destroy the stock market. He didn’t smile. He didn’t sleep. He once fired me from an internship because I brought him the wrong kind of sparkling water. It was ‘too effervescent,’ apparently.”

He’s a tamer version of Dante with the right amount of Damien mixed up in one just as deadly combination. Damitri is heavy handed and shot first ask questions later type of guy but I know that even though my guys are like that, with me they are all giant teddy bears filled with nothing but mushy stuff and love. “Call Liam and have him come over and wait with you” Damien says as an order more then a suggestion.

I looked at Damien, trying not to tear up as I spoke. “Saved you?” Callan said back, clearly taken aback by my statement. I shook my head, acknowledging what I said. Damien approached the cell wall. I could see a mix of defiance, belligerence, kindness, and fear in his eyes as he spoke. “Xavier is an asshole. Once he saw what Raina could do, I knew that it would be too dangerous.” He sneered as he spoke, looking directly at Callan. He turned and looked at me, and his expression softened. “I couldn’t let him do anything to you. I knew that he would stop at nothing to force you to use your abilities.”
