Claire's POV Daniel took a deep breath in, his chest rising and falling with a mix of emotions. My revelation had clearly struck a chord within him, and for a moment, the room seemed to hold its breath in anticipation of his response. When he finally spoke, his voice was laced with a weariness that only added to the layers of complexity between us. "A witch," he mused, his eyes narrowing slightly as he processed the information. To them, being able to wield magic as “flawlessly” as we can was a sign that we were blessed by the gods.

Sitting down behind his desk Daniel clasps his hands together and eyed me. "Tell me who burned Raija's cottage to the ground," he said. Gritting my teeth I huffed. "It wasn't the twin Alphas. You know as well as I that our wolves won't destroy our pack lands. It had to be those witches. They had been there that night before we left and put black rune marks on her porch and a crystal mobile that confused my wolf. But their body felt still young and fit.
