Your games are over.” Carolina screamed for security, but Athena smirked, launching another verbal attack. “What should I stop? That you killed Ranya’s mother just to be with her husband? Or that you made his personal assistant do it? The evidence is right here!”

"This is my son’s game. You have no business being here." Athena finally deigned to look at me. Her expression was a picture of mocking amusement. "Oh, Mia. Always so defensive," she said smoothly, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness. She tilted her head, looking at me as if I were a child throwing a tantrum. "I wouldn't be here if I weren't wanted. Damon invited me." My heart stopped. I snapped my head to look at Damon. "What?" I whispered, the word scraping against my throat.

"I have a weapon, but if I use it my head explodes?" She shrugged. "It's a good weapon." "No. No it isn't." What is she talking about? My head explodes! "Don't argue with me. It is. How do you think Rectors implode other Neratomay? And they don't even know your biggest secret!" My eyes locked onto hers. "Athena." A chill went up my spine.
