Dark Knights Romane & Geschichten

Dark of Night Copyright 2019 Emily Goodwin Chapter One “What do you see when you look at this one?” The doctor holds up a card, showcasing an ink splotch that’s twisted and creepy, with eyes that follow you no matter where you go. I look at it, heart hammering away inside my chest. The mess of ink on the white paper reminds me of the monster that lurks in Nana and Papa’s basement, the one that tried to get Abby and Scott to go downstairs with it.

The name struck me like a blow to the stomach. The Darkened were myths—rumors of a cadre of ancient fighters, once exiled from the realm, who practiced dark sorcery and flourished in disorder. It was claimed that they were the overlooked warriors of a conflict that had faded into history. Nobody understood their genuine desires, yet the tales were sufficient to instill fear in any rational individual. "You should never have crossed us, Kael," a voice echoed, smooth and eerie. It originated from one of the forms—a towering, authoritative figure who advanced, his visage concealed by a mask of solid obsidian. "The cost of betrayal is high."

The dark knights. It was because of them that the normal warriors held on till now without so many casualties. Why? Well that's because for some reason I suspected it to be dark magic, the warriors of the Blackthorn pack were persistent and tenacious. Their eyes were dull and it seemed that no matter how many times we struck them down, they didn't feel it. No. It wasn't that they didn't feel it. It was more like for some odd reason, they were immensely numb to the pain.

"They must be truly desperate." "Those aren't ordinary soldiers," Serena warned. "Those are hunter-knights, trained specifically to combat supernatural threats. Their weapons are blessed by the Grand Inquisitor himself. Even with the Soulstone's power, you'd be wise to avoid direct confrontation." The Shadow Knight studied the approaching force. Twenty riders, each representing the pinnacle of the Light's martial prowess. They moved with disciplined precision, scanning the terrain with the practiced efficiency of predators tracking prey.

I flinched. But even as I wanted to argue, Theo’s face—the tight jaw, the way his fists trembled—came back sharper than any words I could form. “I…” My throat locked. Damien’s smirk curved. “Exactly.” His hand tilted my chin up, forcing my gaze to his. “Stop torturing yourself with fantasies of knights. They’ll never survive in the dark. But I…” His voice dropped lower, dangerous. “I am the dark. And I’ll make sure no one can take you from me.”

Kimber stood by, watching the ensuing chaos in horror. “Dragon, I'll get you, all of you,” he screamed, as Nick and Adam held him down. But Madchen paid no attention, as she watched Drago turn a shade of blue, and foam at the mouth. “Drago!” She dropped to her knees, shaking him by the shoulders, but he didn’t respond. Instead, he stared up at the lights, seeming catatonic. His green eyes faded to a deep black, rolling to the back of his head.

Blake's sobs soon followed at the sight of nothingness, darkness and that one hole on the ceiling. "L-luca, p-please. Get me o-out of here, p-please." Sobbed Blake in despair, his lips quivering in fear. The shivers didn't stop to crawl on his skin, as the thought of not getting out there forever started to eat his soul. He crawled backwards until a cold wall hit his back, as the sound of chains echoed around the dark room.

The spell he whispered drew thick dark drops of liquid leaking from his body, rolling down his arm, and out. "Risthor tiem uhlanor yreit." These miniscule droplets, converged into a long arm-length spiral lake, twisting and circling the white floating rocks, slowly seeping into them, soaking the crystals in deep blackness. These were what Ekron called: The Shards Of Darkness. His darkness. Another snap from his fingers, forced each shard to appear in front of a lord, a supposed demigod he had summon, and so did a key: brilliantly shimmering, fighting off the dark progeny from the shards beside it.

Cosmic Darkness is not a good choice in this kind of situation. “Dark Celestial-Divine Magic: Dark Knights!” I shouted and then, I pointed my celestial weapon that had turned into scepter to the swarm of lowly demons. Many knights wearing heavy metal black armors appeared on the air simultaneously and they came with black Pegasus. They attacked the enemies nonstop, slashing them from everywhere until those demons become smithereens of black ashes.
