“Invite him into your life. Drink her dry.” Just as Gage opened his eyes, his eyes were no longer the blue color they were, they were black. He lost what he was, and he bit down on her neck. She screamed out in pain, she tried clawing at him but grew instantly weak as the life drained from her. She died slowly and when he finished her body turned to ash.

Oshey walked to the window and glanced at the tree. She had the impression the tree was looking back. "I can see why you and I share this insane attraction." Oshey peeked over her shoulder at him. Baraka stepped over the threshold, his heavy boots crunching loudly in the absolute, suffocating darkness. He didn't need the ambient light to see. The pitch-black lobby instantly resolved into a landscape of cool blues and dark purples, punctuated by the bright, terrified orange heat signatures of the men hiding within it.

I added. They all looked at me. Mark asked what the guy looked like, but I told him that it was so damn dark in there it was hard to see. Samaeya said the same thing. “His hair was dark, but I cannot tell you if it was black or a deep brown. His skin tone was the same as yours, but the one thing I do remember were his eyes. His eyes were this swirling shade of silvery purple. However, the purple seemed to change to blue at times.” I told them.

The psychopathic lord wailed, blinking eccentrically as his vision slowly rose from the darkness. The lord of hell gritted his teeth as a deep and throbbing pain exploded from behind his eyes, a strange oily green splitting across his vision; along with a sickly yellow; the colours causing his gut to churn in disgust. What the fuck was this? He growled within his mind, continuing to blink at a rapid pace as he shook his head. Attempting to push away the sickly unnatural colours. Darkous gasped lightly when they began to fade, slowly soaking into the metal implants that his father had forced upon him.

I look up and follow Sorrell’s eye line, but all I see is darkness… and that’s the problem. Even in a pitch-black room in the dead of night, our eyes can make out enough of our surroundings, but all I see a few feet in front of us is darkness; darkness so black and thick it’s almost like it’s absorbing the light around it. The Elders began to disappear one by one until only Alexis and Malarias remained. Alexis cocked his head as if listening and then nodded once. Immediately the orbs rose and shot toward him, settling into him as if a vacuum had sucked them in. Alexis closed his eyes, and when he opened them instead of the all black pupils that I had become accustomed to, the eyes that looked out were white with absolutely no pupils at all.

It’s a shadow I can’t escape, no matter how fast I walk, no matter how far I go. And as I walk down the sidewalk, I feel the undeniable weight of something dark pressing against me. The kind of dark that doesn’t just disappear. It lingers. Watches. Waits. And I know, with a certainty I can't shake, that whatever this is—whatever has started—it’s only just begun. Alessandro's POV
