My wolf stirred inside me. A powerful growl sounded loud through the room. The windows shook. Several healers stepped backward. My eyes began to glow. Orion stared at me. “Ariana...” I looked at him. “I saw what happens if I keep running.” My voice grew stronger. “Blackridge burns.” I looked at Lucan. “Damian dies.” My hand moved over my stomach. “And they come for my child.” The warmth under my hand grew stronger. A faint golden light appeared around my fingers.

With the universe as their backdrop, the trio braced themselves for the challenges that lay ahead, united in their quest and the bond they shared. The shadowy figures drew closer, revealing themselves as ethereal beings, their features constantly shifting as if made of starlight. The leader, distinguishable by the bright constellation marked on their forehead, stepped forward. "We are the Starborn, guardians of this realm. Why have you trespassed into our domain?" Orion lowered his weapon slightly, maintaining a cautious stance. "We were led here by this tome," he replied, nodding toward the book in Liora's grasp. "We mean no harm."

“Elara—don’t.” I looked at him, the one thing I couldn’t lose. And I looked at her—the thing I couldn’t face. And I stood. “I’ll make my own third choice,” I said. She blinked. “There is no third.” “There is now.” I closed my eyes—and crushed the Luna Star in my hand. The explosion of light knocked us all back. Silver fire burst in every direction, blinding and brutal. My other self screamed—clutching her chest as the power seared through her.

“You alright?” Maya wiped the blood from her lips. “Barely.” They turned back toward the boat. The Testament pulsed in Maya’s hand. New words etched themselves in red across the next page: > “The Third Tide dreams beneath the Dead Light. The sirens have forgotten how to lie. You must make them remember. Or the world will drown in their truth.” --- Maya looked at the horizon. Storm clouds gathered. The dagger was silent now. But it would not stay that way.

It had become a reminder. He handed the blade fully now, watching as Lucian’s fingers closed around the hilt without hesitation or tremor. Kairo led the way in silence through the fog of the void. The path to Stella was narrow, flanked by jagged rocks and pulsing sigils of containment. At the far end, a rift glowed softly, the last defence before the real deportation back to earth. Lucian followed behind him, silent as death. Each step he took resonated with power that didn’t belong to him.

I smile at him slowly, genuinely with tears trickling down my face, my eyes locked as though somehow I can draw strength from those beautiful greys. I’ll miss seeing them. Despite all he is, I will miss him. This is it … The end to all my troubles and maybe now I can finally know what it is to be that dandelion seed, set free on the breeze and finding her way in the wind. Soaring to a better place where he can never touch me again. I turn the gun to my own head and without hesitation, I pull the trigger. End of book one – book two follows on.

But before I could even finish talking he just stormed out of the room. That night, I curled up on my bed, the sheets tangled around me. My mother hadn’t spoken to me since our last conversation and I still didn’t know who she was talking about. The fight between Trenton and Darcy left the house raw and silent. The darkness outside felt too close, like the estate itself was holding its breath. Sleep came slowly, and when it did, it was filled with fire. I stood in a field of ash, the moon bleeding red above me. The triple bond burned in my chest like a brand. Cain stood in the distance, arms outstretched. Behind him: flames. A throne of bones, a sky cracked.

“He’s the one who protected Rowan. The one who came for me.” Seris blinked once. Then twice. And then the room shattered like glass. They were back in the clearing. Only now, Seris was standing outside the cradle, hand in Rowan’s, her feet barely touching the ground. “I remember,” she said. “My name is Seris. I am the Third Flame.” A roar split the sky. Overhead, the Ash Moon cracked. From its depths poured a darkness thicker than night, swirling into a vortex above the tree. The Hollows screamed as the light burned them away, but in their place rose something far worse.

The shadows in the room trembled, drawn to him like moths to flame. “Elara!” Iris cried, scanning for her daughter. A golden light flared from behind the cradle, and she saw Elara huddled there, her tiny face streaked with tears but radiant with pure light. “Stay away from them!” Iris snarled as Lyra stepped into the room. --- Scene 3: The Edge of Destruction Outside, the sanctuary walls shuddered as the Shadow Legion pressed harder. Aiden fought at the front lines, his silver fur streaked with blood and ash. The runes flickered, their power weakening.
