KELLY THOMPSON'S POV In a brilliant explosion of light, the darkness shattered, and the Black Faes were thrown back into the shadows from whence they came. Baddy's shrieks of fury echoed in the air as he was forced to retreat, his power diminished and his malevolent presence momentarily vanquished. The battlefield, once chaotic and filled with the sounds of clashing steel and desperate cries, fell silent. The oppressive weight of the darkness lifted, replaced by the faint glow of the moonlight breaking through the clouds.

A Nightfang warrior leaped from the shadows of a supply hut, his claws extended, his eyes glowing amber with bloodlust. Kael didn't even flinch. He stepped into the wolf’s guard and gutted him in one fluid motion, the spray of hot blood hitting my face like a brand. Then, the sea of chaos parted. Standing at the base of the inner ridge was a figure in dark, lacquered leather. He wasn't shifting. He didn't need to. Alpha Darian Blackthorn stood with his hands behind his back, watching the slaughter of his own men with the detached interest of a gardener pulling weeds.

I say hesitantly. “Sup dude? How’s life on the dark side?” Xane blurts out. “Don’t be a douchebag.” Donnie buts in. “It’s fine Donnie. Life couldn’t be worse, couldn’t be better.” I huff. “Cool.” Xane laughs. “Show him the mask for the game we are playing later!” Alex chuckles. “Sure. Plain white mask, black hoodie and Dead Man’s Woods. We’re going to play manhunt.” Donnie says with a smile.

I said sleepily. He was right, I felt weak and slightly sick that my eye lid started to get heavy. At once I felt a strange cold breeze blow past that made me shiver and open my already closed eyes a little bit. I caught sight of a pale looking slim man wearing a blue tight fitted tee shirt over black leather jeans and brown jacket to my right. He was standing far far away from the group so he was obviously not a part of us, he was looking down all along but as he lifted his head, I saw a his eyes turn deep red before he disappeared completely leaving me shivering against Lucas's body.

Arthur slid into the passenger's seat of the cab that pulled up in front of him. Richard welcomed him with a grin. “It's freezing out here, man. What took you so long?“ “Sorry, bro. Just had to find the right outfit.“ Richard gestured at his outfit. Black, denim jacket. Black boot. Black gloves. Black hat. Black shades. “You look like you're on goddamn espionage.“ Arthur had zero sense of humor for the night. Something about racing through that door earlier today plunged him into a terrible mood.

I replied and poured the juice for both of us "I see you are a huge fan of black and dark purple" she sipped the juice gracefully and I couldn't help but stare at the movement of her lips..... I cursed deeply at the lustful thought going through my mind. I had dumped that attitude a long time ago "Black is the best...." I said "Black is wicked" she muttered "At least it's not sad....." "I prefer brighter colors, white, lemon, pink, sky blue, orange and even yellow" she said with a straight face

They arrived at the slum by 7pm in the evening. He followed behind the men as they all filed into the old building. They climbed to the third floor and they all entered into a room. Each man was dressed in black as they were all prepared for the mission that night. The lights in the room shone on their faces as they walked in to meet Gabriel who was busy dropping guns on the wide table before him. He could see different guns and riffles hung on the walls of the room and he felt his heart skip again.

Unknowingly, my nerve cells started to respond to the circumstances. The two of them didn't seem to notice that there was someone else besides them as they were lost in their world. They appeared to be close friends and both of them were radiating in the room. One was blessed with light brown pastel coloured eyes which seemed as sweet as sugar and the other one was blessed with black coloured eyes which seemed as deep as the sea.
