"Your brother dies first. Then you. Then I deliver the Luna to her destiny. Malachar rises. And the age of wolves ends." The shadow spear formed fully, humming with deadly power. Thaddeus drew back his arm, preparing to throw. Then Darius's eyes snapped open. They glowed with unnatural light. Not the golden amber of a wolf. Not even the red of demon influence. Pure, absolute black. Like staring into the void itself.

At the green light, he sped up to catch up with the team. On his leather couch with a glass of wine in his left hand, Dr. Din Black got the message. He smiled evilly and laughed as if he won a deal with the devil. He exclaimed, "If I kill you, Dr. Smith... my despair utopia, where despair fills people, will be completed! What a nice appetizer to indulge." Dr. Din Black stood up, walked near his glass windows. He glanced outside and took a sip of his wine. "Now, let's have a banquet of darkness!"

Xander chuckled softly, his eyes gleaming with malicious delight. "Rescue, you say? Oh, how predictable. But know this, Dakota, the shadows are my ally. I command them, and they will be your undoing." As Xander finished speaking, the room plunged into darkness, enveloped by an inky blackness that seemed to devour all light. Dakota's heart raced as he relied on his acute senses to navigate through the void, his movements cautious yet purposeful.

Each word landed like a hammer, heavy, final, irreversible. The air left the room. I felt the color drain from my face as I shivered on the bed, like my body already understood what my mind refused to accept. I looked at Black. His eyes were no longer human. They were dark, bottomless pits of rage. I could see that something inside him had snapped loose, something ugly and violent crawling to the surface. I saw that look, that look that months of care from the guys had made me forget. He walked toward the bed, his footsteps slow and heavy. Before I could even blink, his hand flew through the air.

I grew weak, drawing close to the darkness. I heard cries of my name and the wailing of sirens in a distance. Darkness finally consumed me, I had blacked out.

Josh did the same, but the look on his face said it all. This is a terrible idea. Xander mentioned his head for me to come behind him, and I did. I was now in the middle, between him and Josh. The entrance was very dark. Because of that, I pressed myself against Xander’s back as he walked and I mimicked the soft movement he made, trusting his steps even though it was dark. Perhaps wolves have night vision. Xander stopped and pushed me to the side while Josh stood in front of him then he opened another door and aimed his gun straight-ahead yet Xander stood confidently tall and his hands carelessly down.

I ask. "Is that a threat? May I remind you you're being recorded," she says and points to the small black box on the table. "It was not a threat, just an observation," I say and Frankie sighs. "So Vincent, I know who the Italian men are, and George, but who is Damian Black to you?" She asks curiously. I look to Frankie who shakes his head. "No comment," I say as firmly as I can without trying to kill her for talking about my boyfriend.
