As the trio's combined powers exploded against Drax's monstrous form, the battlefield erupted in blinding light, momentarily dispelling the shadows. The intense burst of energy sent shockwaves rippling through the air, and for a moment, everything seemed to freeze. The darkness that had once enveloped them began to recede, revealing a surreal landscape that was both familiar and alien.

Rockan’s POV The lights died so completely that for one suspended heartbeat, even my wolf went silent. Darkness like this wasn’t natural. It wasn’t a simple power failure. It was intentional precise, consuming, engineered to disorient. I tightened my hold on Lyra, reflexively pulling her behind me as my senses sharpened. My vision adjusted faster than a human’s would, but even for a Terrian blooded Alpha, this darkness pressed like a physical weight. It tasted wrong. Metallic. Cloying. A shadow with a heartbeat.

One is a very unfamiliar face with eerie energy, while the other is— Shock shoots right up to my brain at the recognition of the other person and that’s all it takes to send me spiralling into the darkness.

After a few minutes, Shadow still seemed agitated as he neighed again. "What is it?" I could hear sirens from a distance. The woods were practically pitch black, so I was unable to see. The gazebo wasn't too far from where we were, so I made Shadow walk faster. Once we reached the gazebo, I looked out at the ranch. My eyes grew wide, and my heart started pounding as I was horrified by what I saw. My house was engulfed in flames. "SHADOW, GO!" Shadow immediately began running back to the house. He was a fast runner, but it felt like he wasn't running fast enough. I kept squeezing his sides, causing him to push himself harder than he ever had. I could feel Shadow strain, but I didn't care.

(Salvatore's POV) I watch as chaos unfolds before me, the ever-present twilight casting eerie shadows on the panicked faces of humans. They scurry like frightened rats, huddling together and seeking shelter from the strange phenomenon that has plagued London for weeks now. Their fear is palpable, thick in the air, and I cannot help but feel a pang of sympathy for them. They are so fragile, their lives dictated by forces they can neither comprehend nor control. Chapter 1: Dysfunctional family. Well, at least I finally got something I can do as a mage, right? Water splintered like glistening crystals as I turned and followed the rhythm with precision. I closed my eyes as I continued on my track, there was another smooth splash. Once again, I turned and leaped a little, then faced the audience and opened my eyes. I thought I'd see my expectants watching me in awe. But to my surprise, my line of vision was directed to a pair of unfamiliar pitch black eyes, the darkest shade of black I've ever seen in my whole life.

The entire place was bleak, cold and completely dark. It was quiet and somber in there and I felt a chill as the darkness engulfed me when my eyes shot open. It was the most piercing darkness ever- it was not merely the darkness that came out of absence of light, it was much more sinister.
