I arrive at the mountain just as the sun starts to set. The darkness of the cave terrifies me. Pulling out the light crystal, I entered the cave. The darkness seems to swallow the light because I still cannot see in front of my face. The darkness seems to pulse. All the light from the crystal appears to be absorbed. The deeper I go into the cave, the dimmer the crystal becomes. It isn’t long before it stops illuminating.

Darkness also had managed an attack on the compound when they all should have been safe. This child won’t be able to take much more. Her body is going into shock, Gary warned. He fended off the attacks, but he couldn’t stop her body’s natural reactions. Damonq followed the last tiny segment of Darkness’s sliver. It was miniscule, but it was still dangerous. He didn’t dare allow it to escape his light. He just had to get close enough… The sliver tried to take refuge in a layer of neurons, desperate to conceal itself. He knew he had it then. He didn’t wait, but sent a burst of white-hot light straight into the tiny bit of matter, burning it until it was nothing but ash.

A gasp tore through my throat like a poisoned arrow and I shot to my feet, blinking away the nightmare that played behind my lids only seconds ago. “So real, how could it feel so real?” I wheezed, scrambling out the bed and heaving over the porcelain bowl of the washroom sink just before my guts heaved up even more of my poisoned blood. “Goddess and seven hells, Laziel. You have finally gone mad.” I chuckled bitterly, glaring at my reflection in the dirty mirror. “Side effects of The Darkness include fever dreams, wolf maladies, hallucinations…delirium,” I muttered, recalling the words from the scribe’s handbook after the first plague of the darkness hit all those years ago.

~YULIA I saw the Darkness coming for me. It came in the form of a large intimidating shadow and it consumed all the light in its vicinity. I tried to run. I tried to move my legs but nothing happened. I remained rooted to the ground, watching in horror as it came for me. It screeched and I winced at the sound. My entire body began to tremble. I was sweating all over. The darkness reached me and that was when adrenaline shot through my veins and broke me out of the captivity of the Darkness' presence.

This sudden light makes me shut my eyes tight.But when I open them , what I see escalates my heart bit way faster than before if that is even possible.

Each massive, desperate barrier disappeared the exact millisecond it brushed against the encroaching darkness. The Hunter unleashed a deafening, reality-shaking roar. For the first time since humanity had encountered the cosmic giant, genuine, unadulterated rage exploded from its body. Volatile dark energy erupted from its massive form, bathing entire continents in a harsh, black light. The cataclysmic attack struck the shadow directly. Nothing happened. The darkness absorbed everything. It consumed the energy, the kinetic force, and even the light itself. It was gone in an instant, as though reality had fed the shadow willingly.

Watched darkness surrender to brightness. “Light is just the absence of darkness. Just a reprieve before night returns. Just an illusion that existence is better when really existence just cycles between dark and light forever.” Doubt’s voice was dismissive. “This does not prove anything. This does not convince me. This is just a natural process. Just physics. Just reality being reality.”

Strong enough to steal my breath. I had felt it before with my first mate but this one was different. It was more painful like someone was tearing my guts and before I even realized it blood began oozing out of my nose, Rachel's scream of terror confirmed that I was conscious of everything that was happening around me but I couldn't control my body. "Did something happen between you two?" Marona felt the darkness blinking in front of her eyes out of nowhere but she ignored it. "No! Nothing happened." Lovina nodded in acknowledgement. "Then how's it going?" "Better than before!" Marona mumbled and again felt the dark dots. "I need to attend this call, I'll be back." Lovina excused herself when her phone rang. Marona shook her head but the darkness started getting stronger, she decided to sit on the chair which was kept at the edge of the lawn.
